New area at Animal Kingdom?

Post by Sharonofwindham » Feb Sat 23, 2008 5:27 pm

Has anyone heard any rumors about a new area at AK? I would love to see Australia, or a rainforest area.

I haven't heard any rumors. But, I sure would love to see a new land in AK. In fact, any addition to AK would be good, IMO.

It would be cool if they did the Australia part of the park but make it really cool with a pure aboriginal vibe. That would be awesome.

ghostelias, that would be amazing! I'm sure if Disney does it it will be done with input from the native people.

They have the room for it, but I wonder how it would be accessed from Oasis.

I think AK has come a long way..especially with EE and Nemo. I remember when I didn't care if I went there or not. I also would like to see Australia or Madagascar because of all the exotic species there.

Australia is one of those persistent rumors that will probably never go away until/if it actually happens. Obviously, I'd love to see it eventually. The question is when will Disney get around to it?

I'm guessing it might be "Beastly Kingdom". When I worked there when it opened, they were supposed to have a "fantasyland type" that would be dragons and things. It is on the original artwork for the park. I have an Animal Kingdom T-Shirt from 1998 that shows 4 animals on it and one of them is a dragon with wings. It never made it for the opening though. I think that is the direction they go.

Australia would be a great opportunity to add dozens of new animal species to the park. I'd love to see it.

dinoland usa only has 1 animal in it, and i think its doing fine.
Australia would be great if youre looking for more animals, but for attraction sake, I think you can do more with the Beastly Kingdom land, or whaterver they would call it. Dragons, unicorns, pegasus, there is so much you can do with mythical animals, and since there is already a dragon in the logo it would fit right in.
