Granted a lot of the benefits outweigh the cost but still if you are doing things on a budget then you might not be incline to spend that kind of money.meticulus9 wrote:you might even want to look into ap discounts....buy an AP and get mad discounts on hotel during the slow seasons....

not completely true. I was able to get this without booking transportation through AAA. You only need to book the package through AAA (room/tickets) in the form of one of the MYW packages.jcodirewolf wrote:Second, you only get the AAA parking with a AAA package. Which is rooms, transport and tickets all though AAA.

This is very true. I tend to do that when traveling to Disneyland. I have an AP there. I usually buy a new at the beginning of a travel cycle. I buy them only as needed for the next year, I don't worry about renewing them each year because I may not be going that year, and besides you only save $10 if you renew......meticulus9 wrote: yeah but stay for 10 days....2x in 1 year and u save money (the idea is take your vacation one week earlier next year)
----------------------Purchased--------------------Used
First AP cycle:-------Feb 06'---------------Feb. 06' , July 06'
Second cycle:-------Aug 07'---------------Aug. 07', Dec. 07', ???Jun 08'???
Still haven't bought one for WDW yet, I want to but I still have to wait to see what kind of vacation time I will be getting soon, plus pay.

That maybe true the transport being optional. But you do have to book more than we do (since we have APs, no reason to buy tickets.)

We tented at Ft. Wilderness many years ago, I think it was '94. It was in October, but the driver that took us to our sight said the weather had been just like summer. It was really humid with a storm every afternoon. Our tent and sleeping bags got a little soggy to say the least, so we ended up in a cabin. Fortunately they gave us walk-in rates so it was affordable, and they felt sorry for us
