Epcot 2: More Countries

Movies, TV, music, and more. Here's the place to talk about anything Disney outside of the parks.

Epcot 2: More Countries

Post by DIAC1987 » Feb Sun 10, 2008 11:58 pm

Disney loves sequels, the examples are all around us. Now, they have just announced a sequel to Epcot's World Showcase, as they are building an entire theme park dedicated to the countries that they did not represent the first time around.

Of course all this is fake, but if you had the chance to offer some countries that Epcot (Or Epcot Part 2) could represent, which ones would you pick? Here are my personal choices:

1) Brazil: I personally have a weakness for their women, so that's a start. Second off, its a massive country full of history, full of wonderful nature, and culture. Then add the fact that we have no South American country in Epcot to begin with. Brazil would be a perfect choice to be a country represented in Epcot.

2) Australia: Besides the stereotypes and Irwin, just how much do we know about this country/continent?

3) Russia (Rumor has it Russia and Disney are indeed in talks)

4) Greece

5) The Islands of the Caribbean (Jamaica, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico, Bahamas)

6) Argentina

7) India

8) Antarctica (Just..kidding...)

I'd also like Autralia, or New Zealand. New Zealand has gorgeous scenery and interesting culture.

Why Epcot 2.0?? They have enough room for about 4 or 5 more pavilions...

Something Middle-Eastern actually... I would like to learn more about the culture as I am sure what I see on the news is far from an accurate representation!

I'd almost say that Morocco is Middle-Eastern. Even though the country itself is in Africa, the culture is more Middle-Eastern than African.

I'd like to see more Sub-Sahara Africa in EPCOT (although I guess Animal Kingdom already has some of that).

I heard rumours of Spain coming to World Showcase a couple of years ago...

I would not mind seeing Australia or Russia. Egypt would be pretty cool as well.

All the above sound good. If there were to be a 2.0, all of them could be incorporated. If we were adding countries to the WS, I would like to see Russia, whose architecture would be brilliant for the WS, as would Egypt.

There might be others but I agree completely with those two!

I would love to see Russia and Egypt..or how about they incorporate more of subsaharan Africa instead of that waste of time between China and Germany they call "outpost"...huge waste of time and space.

the probem there is that they have an entire land of Africa in AK. doesn't make too much sense to put another Africa in Epcot...

I think if they focussed more on the culture than the landscape, there's plenty to say about sub-Saharan Africa that is only touched on in set design at the AK.

I'd love to see Egypt, India, one of the countries from South America (we need some sort of representation from there!), and Spain.

Since there are dreams of establishing colonies on the moon or other planets, I'd love to see WDW's take on what a moon colony would be like. If it ever did exist and flourish, eventually a culture would develop. I guess that doesn't really fit in with the World Showcase since it's not another country, but I still think it would neat.
