What's your favorite Disneyland parade?

Post by cap396 » Feb Fri 08, 2008 6:59 am

What's yours and why?

I really liked the Party Gras. The ballon floats were cool, the confetti was fun, and I like that they stoped the parade a few times along the route and did a street show.

I LOVE the music from the Main Street Electrical Parade, although the parade itself was never my favorite.

Mmm, I love the Main Street Electrical Parade, but cannot say that I have seen all of those suggested. I also liked the Mickey Jamboree parade at Animal Kingdom.

Of these parades I have only seen the Main Street Electrical Parade and I enjoy it very much we always make sure to see it when we go. I also enjoy the Parade of Dreams ( I think that is the title?) in Disneyland but I didn't see it in the list of choices.

It'll always be the Main Street Electrical Parade for me. I saw it for the first time in California Adventure last month and I was almost moved to tears since I haven't seen it in years.

Electrical Parade followed closely by Party Gras, if only for nostalgia

Are these all at Disneyland? I didn't know that Disneyland (in California) had so many parades! I haven't been in years though, so it wouldn't surprise me if they did. I loved the old Electrical Parade from like a million.......ok, 30 years ago......in a galaxy far far away.....oh wrong place...ha ha ha Sorry its TGIF and I am waiting for the work clock to tick down to 5:30pm!!!!! so I am a little giddy

Where's SpectroMagic on there? Is that the WDW version of Light Magic?

Disneyland never had Spectromagic. Light Magic was the parade right after they took out the Main Street Electrical Parade. It bombed, but that song is really catchy.

Mulan also had a parade. Then there's the Block Party Bash (which is moving to the Studios), and Eureka! both at DCA.

My favorite will always be the Electrical Parade, but following that is the Parade of Dreams.

My bad... I didn't realize this was in the DLR forum. I made the incorrect assumption that we were talking about all parades... whooops

Without a doubt, Main Street Electrical. The music brings back many a memory of SoCal locals lining Main Street clapping along with the melody. The music for the MSEP portion of Light Magic is pretty cool.

Of these, I've only seen Main Street Electrical and Light Magic. Main Street Electrical gets my vote though.

I was there the cast night in 97 when they unveiled Light Magic. I liked the parade but I felt so bad for the performers who were BOOED by the other DL cast as the parade went on. :| That was sad.

Hi again. OK, it's no surprise for me that the Main Street Electrical Parade gets the top vote. Lately, I've been something of a quest to find all the different versions of MSEP at DL alone, (there's more than you think), and can listen to the music forever. In fact it's playing right now!

A couple of other choices: 1) America on Parade. 2)Flights of Fantasy. 3)The Very Merry Christmas/Fantasy on Parade. 4) Disneyland's 25th Anniversary Parade.(saw it on, you know) . Later, peace.

I can tell you which parade is not my favorite (heck, it's not even listed!) - the [expletive] Parade of the Stars. While I had absolutely no problem with listening to "Believe...Magic in the Stars" each night, the orchestral medley of "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, "Be Our Guest," and "Cinderelley, Cinderelley" (I think that's all of them) that they used as the background track for that parade was almost intolerable for 2 20-minute stretches each day. I'd find myself humming it 5 hours later! Give me "Baroque Hoedown" any day.
"Pretty soon we'll be underwater - I mean, underway."
