Just tuned 40 this year and say there are plenty of things at all the parks that bring a tear to my eye. Some because they are special and others becuase of great memories from over the years. I spent many years since 1993 with a very good friend at Disney - he passed away in 2003, he was 44 - I often think of the great times we had and the fun at all the Parks at WDW

Do you cry

Post by Sharonofwindham » Nov Wed 28, 2007 11:32 pm

I can't believe this sight exists! I found it less than an hour ago! I could listen forever! Feeling so much better knowing that I'm not the only one that cries or feels like crying at Disney! I always thought I was being silly, and should try to be stronger," you're supposed to be smiling, not crying," I would be thinking. A big one for me is entering the MK for the first time, coming out from under the train station, hearing the music, and feeling that special Disney feeling that only true Disney people know. I'm a very concerned about my next visit. The whole family was going to go to WDW in 2006, my Dad, a huge WDW fan, and nearly 80 years young, was very excited about this trip. Sadly he passed away in Dec. 2005. I'm sure that I'm going to be very teary eyed when I think of my Dad, and all his favorites. He will be there in spirit, and that makes me cry too. I can barely see the keyboard to type! Much love to all my fellow Disney people! Sharon

I don't cry, but it is definitely a powerful feeling. And Wishes definitely makes me choke up.

Ditto getting a little misty eyed right now myself. I and bit of both Grinning idiot and slightly crying tears of joy when I get to epcot and am walking down the path from the busses to the park entrance. I round the corner thru the turnstiles and see SSE and Boom it hits me I just like to take a Huge Breath close my eyes and have a Mary Tyler moment (spinning with my arms up in the air) after that its all grins from there on untill the last day which has to be Illuminations and then the tears come again.

On a side note Welcome Sharon this is a wonderful place as I am sure you can see by now. Great people and great tunes = great times to tide you over untill you can get back to the parks.

I didn't cry, but when I saw Reflections of Earth for the first time I got chills. Okay, I guess I got a little teary eyed when I saw the castle at MK again in years since the last time I'd been there.

It seems that no matter what ideas Disney now has of making more money - the spirit of great memories that Walt had for the Disney company is still there! And those great memories strike a chord with all of us at one time or another. :mickey:

I've been crying these past few nights watching Illuminations since I will only see it a few more nights. Having seen it every night since August, it will be very sad knowing I will never see it for a long time. On my last day down here, I will see Spectromagic and Wishes and I know I will cry ALOT.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

I've never personally shed a tear at a Disney show/ride/attraction/sight, but I do remember when my mother and father and little brother came to visit. Before 2006, most of my family had NEVER been to DisneyWorld(myself and my parents included), and the moment my mom started stepping foot onto ramp that lead to the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom, she started to cry and bit and said "I'm finally here!".
She was like a grown kid the whole time. We saw every show and rode every ride she wanted to ride for the whole weekend. I could have sworn she was 6. She gave Mickey one of the biggest and longest hugs I've ever seen; and when we took her to Crystal Palace, she was way too excited to see Eeyore(her favorite).
It made me so happy to see my mother so incredibly happy; when I think about it, it makes me a little choked up XD.

Excuse me for sounding SO INCREDIBLY CHEESY, but it makes me feel so happy that a Disney park can do that to someone.
But I do agree! I get a little teary eyed when I listen to Subsonic Radio XD!! Especially when I hear any Journey into the Imagination tunes- or Carousel of Progress(first Disney attraction I've ever been on) tunes. I miss my Disney job XD!

Great story dyemooch! I'm glad your mom "gets it" about the Disney magic. I wish more people could lighten up and be that way. :D

I think that, sad to say, most people take themselves and life way to seriously. As a result, they really aren't free to enjoy much of it!

we cry during wishes, for the most part. no one ever sees-- it's not like we're bawling lol. but we just know ourselves that we get teary-eyed.

oh, and i think i have during philharmagic quite a few times.

how embarassing lol....i mean, i don't know why, it's just hard to admit lol

Crying at Disney ~ where do I start?

Wishes ~ Illuminations ~ Spectro, etc.
I cry on Main Street at night becuase it takes me back to filling my popcorn stand after hours and still hearing the music and it was so still.
One Man's Dream ~ each and every time-no doubt!!!

I think it's the mixture of music, images, memories...especially on the last day. :(
