Thanks for those maps, they are very cool.

I'd never really thought about how they'd do maintenance on the vehicles, so the storage area info is also a nice find.

I'm still waiting for them to deploy a Peoplemover in my town. Where's Zombie Walt when you need him?

If you look whilst on the ride, as you enter and exit Space Mountain on the TTA you can see the track move off in the direction of the perimeter of Space Mountain. There's a shutter over the entrance, so you can't see in though. I'd imagine it's purely storage and maintenance of the TTA trains, so won't be particularly show-ready.

Would be cool to go and look around all these backstage areas. When I worked at WDW I got to see some backstage areas behind the attractions, I saw the Test Track maintenance bay, which was cool, but it would be very cool to go and see some others.

I can stomach them shutting it down for the SM refurb, as long as it come back on line after the refurbishment.

It could also be a good time to refurbish the TTA as well. Kill two birds with one stone type of thing.

The TTA is a simple pleasure that needs to stay running. It's a personal must do every trip.

Though I like SM as it is. A change may not be bad

Haha, no backstage photos from me I'm afraid.

Oh, and the Indiana Jones boulder from the show at MGM is bigger when you're standing next to it than it looks when you're watching the show ;)

I'm really looking forward to an SM refurb. After Pirates and HM, I think the time has come.

Well, considering how well the DL refurb (more like rebuild) went, I'm all for a re-build in Florida. I'd never been to MK before 2006, and I was really disappointed with the MK Space Mountain - it's slow, and almost as tooth jarring as The Matterhorn (which is also getting new cars). Heck, I think they have the same single-file cars!

I'm curious what people who've ridden both DL's and MK's Space Mountain think. And for that matter, if there are people who think DL's old Space Mountain was better (I love the new launch sequence!).

I'm glad they're finally going ahead with the rehab. I can't wait to see how it'll turn out.

Wondering out loud here...

Will rebuilt Space Mountain continue to have two tracks, or will they take it down to one? If one, they'll have to go with the side-by-side seating, just to keep ride capacity up. And surely, they'll add onboard audio.

But, whatever they do, it MUST be finished by mid-July 2009!!!

Well if the rehab of the WDW:SM is anything like the one out in DL everything should generally be the same, just with additions and with a little tweeking of the rails, lights, and yes adding new soundtracks (just as long as they don't get rid of star tunnel I will be happy)
