Actually, the policy has not changed (or it's changed back). I went with my family in August and we called as soon as possible to get tickets. We were seated right up front, though others arrived before us.
It was a fantastic experience! I would highly recommend to anyone for a special occasion. The view is ideal, desserts excellent and it is rather nice not to have to deal with the mob below. What a marvelous time!
Quick side note. The pirates diving off the Colombia onto the deck are higher then we were at the Disney Gallery. Now that takes some real nerve. Arrr!

I finally did the balcony seating in the gallery in Nov 2006 when my best friend came from CT to visit. I am so glad we did it together and when we did since the gallery is now becoming a "hotel" room. We had a blast viewing Fantasmic that way. The only down side was that we ate at Blue Bayou for dinner about 1 1/2 hrs prior to the show and so we were still full from dinner. We stuffed what desserts we could though.

My wife and I did this in October 2007 for her 50th. It was great. The cost has gone up to over $50 but for a 50th birthday treat it worked out just fine. Once you sign up and get your ticket. You check in at 7 p.m. for either of the shows. Your seat is assigned and that is it. You can then enjoy Disnyland for the next two hours returning just before the show. You now get wine, softdrinks, coffe, hot tea for drinks, along with a box of goodies to enjoy during the show it is more than anyone could eat.

October 2008? is it that late in the year already? guess I'll have to bring out the Christmas decorations I just put away...
I kinda wish this was still around, as I want to get out to DLR some time next year (finally). oh well.
