I really like DCA, especially since I can get my Soarin' and ToT fix there, not to mention see Muppetvision 3-D. I'm a WDW girl all the way, so going on those three rides gives me a nice connection back there.
That said, if I had to choose between going to just one park or the other, I would choose Disneyland, hands down. It's the original, it's classic, and it's the very embodiment of Disney parks. It feels so good to walk down Main Street. There's just nothing like it!

Funny...i was thinking the same thing when i first heard about the new upgrades. I still think people will stick the original but on the other hand...this could sway some peoples opinions.Jacca5660 wrote:May be after A Billion dollars or so DCA will be in the running!

Disneyland resort for me! I would move into one of the apt's over mainstreet if they were real and I'd live there
In all fairness I have never been to DCA, but I know that even if I had, there is no place like Disneyland, there is no place like Disneyland (as I click my ruby red slippers together!)

Actually they do refer to it as the Magic Kingdom as well, I have some things that I collected from there as a kid that has "Magic Kingdom" on it. Not to mention some of the tracks recorded in Anaheim from years ago that Sonic has here on his station does say Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom"Lion Sleeps Tonight wrote:But don't they refer to Disneyland as the Magic Kingdom as well? Even though Magic Kingdom is what they call it at WDW, it is not incorrect to call Disneyland the Magic Kingdom...well that's what I thought.spaulo wrote:The Magic Kingdom exists at Walt Disney World. Disneyland exists at the Disneyland Resort. That being said, a vote for DCA here is just silly. It may have potential, but Disneyland is still the crown jewel of the theme park universe, Disney or otherwise.
And yeah, Disneyland all the way. For me, even if DCA got all the cool rides it will never top Disneyland.
It is just easier to refer to it as Disneyland because everyone immediately thinks WDW when you say Magic Kingdom. But technically you are correct.

"The Magic Kingdom" or "Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom" are nicknames for the park. You'll notice they fell out of favor in official use since 1971 when the "Magic Kingdom Park" opened in Florida. While you can use anything to refer to Disneyland that you like... The Happiest Place On Earth is common enough... the name of the place is still Disneyland.

I haven't been to DCA since I quit working for the resort. I just can't justify a ticket to DCA - it's the place you go when DL is too crowded, not somewhere you spend a whole day. If I had an annual pass, I'd probably visit, but without one? Nope.

It's Disneyland of course, the original never goes out of style. Yeah DCA is great too but you can see that park in a matter of hours and then your done. With Disneyland, it holds greater memories for me and I feel like I am part of it because Disneyland is my passion! I love that park so much that I could live there if I could
. Ever since I was little and my parents use to take me and my siblings every year, I remember crying on the last day because I never wanted to leave (yeah I even cried when I was older like 15 years old...hahaha). Now that I am a So Cal resident and have my premium passport, I always feel like I am at my second home when I go to the park....

Well, DL is better, but I give my vote to DCA b/c DL only gets it b/c its DL...
DCA is generally less crowded and has way better food. Plus it does have some very good rides, the Electrical Parade, and the amazing Hyperion Theater.
Its such a very good counterpart to DL that it really deserves some recognition. My girlfriend and I enjoy escaping there when Disneyland is inundated with tourists
