Hey folks. It never ceases to amaze me how easy it is to "let loose" and sort of go with the flow when things change. As a kid myself I always tried to look my best whenever I went to DL, even in the summer! Jeans, button-doen shirt, (short-sleeved, of course), and comfortable but not-too-comfortable shoes were always de rigeur with me until recently. While I have no personal problem with people wanting to be comfortable, (especially in today's whacked-out climate), I do think there ought to be some sort of limit on just HOW comfortable we can be in a Disney park. If only out of respect and nothing else. Well, that's my two cents. Later, peace.

I almost regret that I do not live in a time when wearing a fedora and trenchcoat is SOP and not a painful attempt to draw attention to oneself. On the other hand, I am pleased that I don't have to wear all that stuff in the heat. The old styles are great, but there's something to be said for not sweating to death in the name of being respectful.

When I travel up north, it drives me crazy that you have to check the news to see what attire you must wear that day, and that the possible consequences of choosing poorly include death by hypothermia.

At home I pretty much wear the same outfit every day, plus or minus a hoodie, should the temperature drop into the 50s.

Now I know why everyone moves to Florida.

After going to the parks, I had to ask my DW, If all hotel rooms have mirrors? It's can be scary to see what some people will wear.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not allowed to pack to go on vacation, or even a business trip (from what I understand, my DW say's "I have a severe fashion handicap and am not allowed to dress myself if we have to leave the yard!" ). I far as I can tell, my affliction is not unique.

Definitely not unique. I had to wear a suit for the first time in 6 years about a month ago and I got yelled at for not picking the right stuff. How wrong can you go with a Black suit and a blood red shirt and Black shoes and socks? I got yelled at for that......NO I DON'T HAVE PICTURES.

While going to the parks I tend to just wear t-shirts and shorts in the summer months or if the temp. is up above 70 degrees, and Jeans, my better looking ones not the ones with the holes in the knees or in the butt (roofing accident, nail bit me on the way down the roof) those are reserved for the weekend and for annoying my family in public. I DO get to pack my own stuff, since I don't have anyone to yell at me for that, but I always make sure I have my best looking t-shirts and ones that wouldn't offend anyone.

I should mention that my brother actually will take the time to really get gusied up for the Parks, compared to me. He has a better sense for that stuff than I do.

I've noticed this every time I look at old Disney photos. Dressing up to go to the park was a thing of the past by the 70's, near as I can tell. (I came along in '82, so this is all purely observation.) I agree with everyone else--comfort is key when you're doing any theme park for a day! But I think everyone in their button up clothes have this special something in those old photos. Even when I was a little kid, I used to dress up to go on plane rides. Now I wear layers of the most comfortable things in my closet.

Don't forget to wear your running shoes, they might not look cool, but your feet will love you.

Actually, I've started doing that in the last couple of visits. I wear my running shoes and special running socks, and there's not a blister to be had anymore!
