Oh, what I meant is, in the ToT queue and in the exit, there are small trash cans called bullet cans.

They are a pain to handle because you have to tie the huge trash bag into three knots so the bag is now smaller can fit adequately into the can. Also, you have to open them by pushing the lid to the side, and sometimes it gets stuck.

Oh lion I know what you mean now, I've seen those in TOT before and I wondered how they were able to fit these big trash bags in those little cans. Mind you now that we no longer use the black trash bags and now use much larger white clear bags!

Tonight I worked another 12 hour day. The beginning of my day was in UK to help out in the trash runs then I moved to AA to do their trash runs. Today was a little slower of the 2 previous days which made things a little less easier on my feet after a long weekend. Then I got lucky for my night detail as I was cleaning the cafeteria's restrooms which are near the breakroom so I was able to catch most of the ball game. The Boston Red Sox are World Champions. I can't wait to see the player come down Main Street sometime this week :).

Oooh, I see. I didn't know there was a specific name for those; next time I go through that queue I'll annoy people around me with that, lol. Thanks for clarifying. And yes, that does sound really annoying to have to work with. :)

I am finally healthy for the first time in a week. It's hard going to work with a slight fever/cold but when you only make $6.67 an hour plus the fact that $85 is automatically taken out of your paycheck, you need to work every hour to make a decent paycheck down here.

This week, I signed up for overtime so I was scheduled 6 days so I have a total of 50 hours so the paycheck should be a little bit better than it normally is during the week. Tomorrow I'm going to EPCOT with my friend before I have to work and you know what? I'm still excited to go to the parks even though I'm there every night. There is just something about the parks that I can balance the work aspect of it and the fun aspect I have when I go as a guest. Occiously a little of the work aspect will slip out when I'm there a guest and vice versa when I'm at work but it only happens for a little bit.

Heh, If you'd been put in Vista Way, you'd save $4 there, I just checked on my old WDW paycheques, they took $81/week for Vista :)

I do recall one week where they messed up and didn't take any for three weeks.. They thought it'd be a good idea to take double for a few weeks. Yay for $14 and $28 paycheques!

I don't think I needed to eat that week anyway

Merry Christmas to all!

At least in Disney, It should feel like Christmas tomorrow. Tonight, on my way from deep cleaning the McDonalds Rest Rooms, I saw giant cranes putting up the giant christmas tree in front of World Showcase. It comes in like 6 or so parts and then someone has to attach the pieces together. It is so neat being able to see this all happen as I'm walking by after finishing my job. And to think they'll have it all finished tonight!

That's really cool. I'd love to see them putting up the Christmas stuff. Did it always go up right after Halloween? I thought it used to be closer to Thanksgiving, but I may have just invented that in my head. Anyone know?

Wow, the Christmas decor definitely used to go up much closer Thanksgiving. I remember going to WDW during Thanksgiving break in high school and none of the trees went up till after Thanksgiving.
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

I had my first closing shift tonight, and I really enjoyed it. Things are so slow in the afternoon that there is no stress, and people are a lot more likely to want to talk to you when they are leaving at the end of the day as opposed to rushing in during the morning. I also got to help a celebrity in thanks to the PGA event. Even though I couldn't really acknowledge the fact that I knew who he was, it was still cool.

I also can't believe that I already have to stare at Christmas decorations all day.

Wait until the Christmas music starts playing...You will shoot yourself in the face when you hear the same songs EVERY hour (it's an hour loop). The decorations don't bother me but I'm defnitely not looking foward to christmas songs ALL the time throughout the whole park.

Tonight I worked International Gateway for the first time. It wasn't too bad as it's pretty slow until the end of the night. There was a special party reserved down near the water so I couldnt pull the trash until the end of the night which sucked as all the trash was full with beer bottles and cans. It was very hard lifting the heavy trash bags to the banana boat at the top of the stairs.

I'm stilll looking for some subsonic folks to come say hello to me! I'm only here for another 2 months so if you have any vacations planned in the following 2 months, please let me know.

Had my best workday ever today. I really wish I could close every night as we actually get a chance to go out and interact with the guests as they are leaving. Plus, all the guests are generally in an awesome mood so they play along with everything. Tonight I got my picture taken with 4 separate groups and had a mom come back to thank me for calling her little girl a princess because it made her entire trip. Tonight was the type of experience I expected when I went into Casting.

hey coasterphil, which park do you work in, and what do you do? I loved days/nights like those when I worked at MK.
