Couldn't happen to a nicer attraction!

Speaking of which, is it getting close to the time that the refurbished ride opens? Or do I have dates mixed up? Is it completely closed while the refurbishment is going on?

who knows why they get rid of anything good...? they were probably trying to reduce costs by not having to pay the CMs in the parade, and up the short-term profits. sad, but true. hopefully the new higher-ups decide to bring back the parade, or one just like it.

I hadn't thought of it, but maybe the new 'management' for Epcot might want to bring back something Tapestry-ish. They do seem to be interested in adding to the park. Hmm.

There'd need to be more blown out tires lying around for it to be -that- exciting. And the other cars would need to swerve toward you for no reason. Then Test Track'd be right there.

My Epcot top ten:

1. SSE
2. Illuminations
3. Soarin
4. Test Track
5. Mission Space
6. Living With the Land
7. Food Rocks
8. Cranium Command
9. Universe of Energy
10. Maelstrom

I do not know the reason for its end, but TOD/TON "puppets"/costumes were very susceptable to wind, causing parade to be canceled often for protection of CMs and guests. Might have factored into shelving it. (I miss it!)

I agree with Cheshire. I think it came down to money. You have to remember who was running Disney at the time and what the company was all about. Some times in the past Disney has made bad decisions for short term gain. I believe what has happened in the last 16 or so years is going to cost Disney megga cash. We can see a great example with how much the fix for CA is costing now.

Don't forget, trsffic would have to stop for no reason at all and then just clear up again like nothing happened!
