20,000 leagues. why did they have to get rid of it...why? They could have updated it or something, sometimes I wonder why they do such things to us.

Hi folks. From my own personal experience, (and judging by the above list), my favorite lost attraction would have to be 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I have been on both submarine rides at both parks and 20K was better by half! It was better themed and had bette fantasy elements. To me it's a shame what they did with te fleet after it closed, but it still brings back alot of memories for me.

Word has it the 20k leagues attraction was closed because it was maintenance nightmare. And Disney isn't going to put it back anytime soon since they filled in the lagoon (it's now pooh's playful spot.) The subs for a while where visible on the ariel pictures on MSN Maps, a few of them seem to have been moved/removed.
Bonus question 20k leagues is 60k miles. Which is in orbit, out the other side of the planet, WHY is the book/movie called 20 Thousand Leagues UNDER the sea?

A lot of great attractions have become extinct. Among the many I miss are World of Motion, Horizons, Journey Into Imagination, and Dreamflight/Take Flight (which may be the only loss I've recovered from). But if I had to pick a favorite it would definitely be Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, which was perhaps the most overlooked attraction in Disney World history. Imagineers should study this ride if they aren't already doing so, as it effectively demonstrates that an austere budget, with the advent of imagination and sharp attention to detail, can produce a very magical and mysterious ride. A true stylistic tour de force that needs to be brought back to the Magic Kingdom.

I miss the Timekeeper attraction. My hubby says we went on it on our honeymoon but I don't really remember. I have heard the ridethru since and wish I could have seen it or at least remembered it. I love Robin Williams and this sounds like it was great.
I also miss the Animation thing that has Williams and Cronkite. Although I love Mushu and truly enjoy that attraction, I would like the Robin Williams bit too.
