We survived!

Post by Mrs. Evans » Sep Fri 28, 2007 7:36 pm

Hi everyone! Well, we survived with the kids. Got back on the 26th. Been doing laundry ever since. Well lets see...Southwest was GREAT!!!!!!!!!! I will fly with them from now on. They were super with the kids, flight was on time, both ways, no lost luggage. Magical Express was great too. The weather was great except for a few storms, but who cares....we were in Disney. My 3 yr old LOVED the characters. He ran right up to Mickey and gave him a great big hug, kinda like the pictures you see in the commercials. It made my husband and I cry. The sit down dinners( we had the meal plan) were a complete disaster. My kids are 3 and almost 2 years old. They just can't sit thru the meals. Once we realized that, the trip was great. We lived on junk food, but again, we were on vacation. Rode in the front of the monorail....very cool... saw all the parades, and my son now has a new girlfriend...Ariel. It was love at first sight! Mommy is second fiddle now. I wish we had another week to just relax. The kids loved the baby pool at AllStar Movies. The castmembers were all AWESOME! They really made a big fuss over the kids. We justt cant wait to get back. ( 2yrs) Thanks for all of the tips!

Thats awesome...you realize now you will be planning more frequent trips. i took my girls in 2001 and again in 2003. we then told them not again till they open everest. so we went in 2006, now they are 12 and 13 we feel the need to go as soon as possible to enjoy this while they are young. they're not complaining...so we are going in 2008! i've convinced my family to do the first week in December  not sure why i picked this time....hehe hmmm when is Mousefest again? i hope the parks are not crowded.

p.s. any pictures to post?

Sounds like you had a nice trip. It sure doesn't take much to get hooked on Disney trips does it.? We went to Disneyland in July and August of this year and I am already thinking about our next trip.

Sounds like a great trip, with many magical memories!!!

Love when kids run up to mickey and give him a big hug... its sooo coool.

My neice was so excited to see the characters on our last trip a few weeks back. It fun to see her get all excited and run up to the characters.

Dining with toddler is fun huh.... My niece is 3 years old, so I know it can be a challenge to get thru dinner sometimes.

Glad you had a great trip, and welcome back.

Aklrulz is right... start planning your next trip!

As everyone else has said, sounds like you had a great trip with even better memories. It's great to hear wonderful family memory stories here and think back to my childhood memories of visiting the parks. Thanks for the post!

I've been twice during the first two weeks of December, going again this year. Love this time of year... parks and resorts decked out in Christmas splendor, crowds super low because schools still in session, weather is nice (though definitely chilly in the evenings) with almost zero humidity, it's far enough after Thanksgiving and before Christmas that airfares are decent, and it's Value season as far as Disney is concerned. The best!

THAT IS AWESOME THAT YOU LOVED THE TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sad to hear about your return, hopefully it won't be for long.  I'm glad the kids didn't have a problem on the flight, loved the characters, and enjoyed the pool. I still have to do the front of the monorail, so I can video tape it, for nostalgia of course.

ditto on that for me. though, not for nostaligia, as I've NEVER ridden up front before. We'll hae to do that next year (if you can make the trip). something to plan in another thread or via email sometime...

I have never been out in front of a monorail while it was going, i would think that would be kind of a windy, but maybe that's just me. lol

Riding up front of the monorail is awesome! The driver is usually really good about sharing information and treats children like the princes and princesses they are
