Oooh, I want a full report on Epcot's 25th! It's my mom's 50th birthday that day and she's so sad she can't be there!
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

if there's any way that you could capture audio from the rededication and any special things (like the illuminations) it'd be great. we could get those up on the site for some new content

No they are not changing Illuminations, they are just adding some extra fireworks for the 25th Anniversary on October 1st.

I will try to record Illuminations that night since I havent yet since being down here but I dont think I can upload it with the crappy internet connection we have down here in the apartments

You should be able to. I was able to upload to my website, youtube and google video without problems from Vista Way. As far as I know, The Commons uses the same company for the connections.

You will all get a full report of the 25th Anniversary. I'm waking up very early that day like 7am (If I even sleep!) I'm very excited for this day and I will spend all day in EPCOT going on all of the attractions, enjoy the scenary, and even a special cast member thing going on the World Showplace Building which should be pretty neat. And of course I will end the day viewing Illuminations.

On Friday, I will be going to work early to attend this Conversations with Marty Skylar (an Imagineer). My manager recommanded that I go see him during my one on one with him today. It's an hour long and I will tell you how that goes down.

I'm off tomorrow but I'm still waking up early to go to MGM. I still haven't been to MGM much lately so I'm craving TOT, and be an extra (again) on Indiana Jones, listen to my sweetheart Ariel sing Part of this World and much more!

Today I went to Animal Kingdom before work. We had the best Safari Driver today, he just sounded like a talk show host and was real good on spotting all of the animals. I also rode front row on Everest which is awesome.

I've got a question about my Maingate that I'm hoping someone in here can help with. You'd think as a Park Greeter I would've gotten the complete low down on what you get with it, but think again! If I just received mine does that mean I get 12 uses from now until the end of 2007, or until 1 year from the date I received the pass. Also, are there any restrictions on how often you can use. Could I use it 5 times in one month or are there limits by month, quarter, etc.?

Thanks for the help guys. I've got my first visitors this weekend and I want to have this sorted out before hand. I'd contact the number on the pass booklet with these questions but I've been less than thrilled with my responses from other departments.

Oh yeah, as far as the job itself it really isn't all that exciting so thats why I haven't posted any updates. If you guys have anything specific you are curious about I'll try and answer it though.

Phil, my roommates sister said she saw you the other day. She also is a park greeter at MGM. Her name is Anna, tell her you know Derek through a message board, she'll know who you're talking about

Alright, I'll do that if I see her tomorrow.

I called to get the answer to my question and I actually got someone who answered it quickly and kindly. It was an absolute miracle to talk to someone without it turning into a hassle.

That is good news Phil, I'm glad you got that resolved, I hope everything turns out fine when they come to visit you.

Yesterday was the start of Food & Wine...and Yes it is very neat and cool to check out but working it is a pain in the butt, at least so far it is. So I started off the day doing a Magical Moment because they had no assignment for me and 2 other girls. So that was fun, I got the adults and kids involved and we had around 100 people watching or playing with us. It was really a lot of fun especially since I was the one gathering all the people who wanted to play. Then I got my assignment, it was from the Germany gate to the China Bridge aka Africa

By the time I get there, the trash cans are almost overfilled so first thing I do is do a quick sweep around then I head to the back to find a banana boat and there is only one as me and the germany kid were sharing so I had to wait so I swept some more. Now it was almost lunch time but I was panicking that my trash would be overfilled to the max and it would look bad upon me so I figured I would take my lunch now so that way i would have the banana boat by the time I got back. I called my manager and told them I would take care of it as soon as I got back from lunch.

Well as soon as I sit down for lunch, my coordinator calls and asks where I was, I told her that I just sat down for lunch because there was no Banana boat so she said she would take care of my trash run because the germany kid just finished using it. I told her that I was overheated and I defnitely needed water and food so she understood. Luckily afer lunch, I felt much better but it was still very busy. I had to do another trash run 20 minutes later. There is a hot can near Turkey that filled up very fast!

The day flew by and I got in such a great mood after watching Illuminations which has been screwing up again as the Globe didnt even open last night but at least the fireworks from the edge of the lagoon were working!

On Wednesday, I went to MGM and I became an extra again for the Indy Stunt Show (pictures will be coming soon!) and I ate at 50's primetime cafe (another restaurant on my list of things I wanted to eat at again!)

2 days till EPCOT's 25th ANNIVERSARY!

I'm pulling an all nighter on the eve of Epcot's 25th Anniversary. I was supposed to work 130-10 but they asked if I would like to stay until 1am so I said yes since it would be overtime. The day flew by so it wasn't that bad working for 11 hours. Tomorrow I'm leaving at 6:30 am with my roommate Luke to EPCOT to pick up one of the limited edition Tshirts and be one of the few to enter the turnstyles :)

Also, thanks to Andy, I am able to upload my videos to google. This is from my 2nd day living in the apartment so some things have changed but I figured this would be the first video I would upload.

Nice :)

It actually looks very similar to the Vista Way rooms, just a different layout. All the furnature is the same. Vista Way apartments don't have a balcony though.. Although people tended to sit outside the front door, which has the same effect.

And yes, we had a door that we couldn't open and appeared to go to nowhere, too :D I did actually see some engineer peoples open it once. It just houses the air conditioning and hot water stuff :P

Enjoy Epcot today! Get lots of photos and videos uploaded!

yeah, videos of the rededication and such would be awesome. If you send them to me, I'll try and extract the audio so it may get on the site
