This is my first post on this forum!! Hi to all - we've gone on KTTK before - make sure if you have a AAA membership that you ask for a discount. There was about a 15% discount when we booked our tour. It was great. It included the tour, lunch and several rides (front of the line). Very informative and fun. Our group was small because it was the first tour of the day at 8:30 AM. Definitely worth it.

Our tour lasted about 4 hours. We had a wonderful guide who was very infomative not only about the park, but also about his own personal experiences working at Disney World. Before you start the tour, you are given a menu for lunch and bottled water if you want it. We really enjoyed the tour - the time went by so quickly, I was amazed. Hope you have an opportunity to do the KTTK tour. It was definitely worth the time and money

I seem to recall ours starting early a.m., but I'm not a morning person so that may skew my perspective somewhat. Deb's site has some info on it here. Looks like 8:30, 9 and 9:30 these days (or as recently as this was updated).boilerbabe wrote:Thanks for the info. Does it start early a.m.? Or are there different times for the tour? I suppose I could look this up on the disney site, huh?

We had signed up for the 9:00 tour but arrived early. When we checked in, they asked if we wanted to join the 8:30 group because it was a little late getting started. I was so glad we did. Our group was only about 8 people and the 9:00 group had about 16 people. There are just a few restrictions which you might be interested in - you have to be 16 or older to go on the tour and it isn't handicapped friendly. We were on the go the whole time. Our guide brought us to the Haunted Mansion and POTC. I've heard others say they went on 3 rides, but we did just two. Our guide gave us lots of background on the rides as well as the park in general.

Thanks for the good review. We'd definitely do this when we can go back there... someday.alldisney4us wrote:Our tour lasted about 4 hours. Lunch was at the Columbia Harbour House. Before you start the tour, you are given a limited menu to chose from - hamburger, salad, chicken basket - fairly basic. Lunch was very good and we were given more than enough time to enjoy it. We sat with the tour guide who kind of let his "Disney guard" down and told us about his family and the house he had just purchased.
My oldest daughter wants to go back to WDW next year. One of the things she has on her agenda is the KTTK tour. I won't hesitate to join her and do the tour again.

We did go behind the scenes a little bit. We went through the utilidors and saw the parade floats and then went into the tunnel system for a brief tour. I know it may not sound interesting to some, but they explained how the trash was collected and sorted and then disposed of, they described the water filtration system and they explained how Disney security works and handles situations. The CM's use to dress in the tunnel system area beneath MK, but now CM's dress at another location and are transported to the various parks. We did enter the Haunted Mansion from a back entrance and down a hall where we could see the area the CM's use when they are not working on the ride. This is a hallway which is not accessible to the guests. Lots of info regarding the initial planning of the park and the architectural designs used throughout the park.
