If the transportation was provided, and your budget only allowed for 3 or 4 nites at your favorite resort, but no park admissions, would you still go??

Granted I'd rather be TOTALLY immersed, but a little sumthin sumthin is better than a lot of nothing....... agree or disagree?

Sure - the resorts are a huge part of my stay with tons to do, so why not?

Yes I do agree, something is better than nothing. Disney resorts are packed with things to do. With all the extra time saved by not visiting the parks, you may want to consider resort hopping. You can check out the pools, restaurants and shopping. Disney bus transportation offers stops to every resort, best of all its a free guest service. Also don't forget about Downtown Disney, plenty to see and do there also. If you would like a killer view of Wishes without admission, go up to the observation deck located in the Contemporary resort. Just a few ideas.

Absolutely!!! I've been several times for the WDW Marathon, where all we did was resort hop. Just being on property is worth a few days to soak up the ambience and recharge the 'ol batteries.

And I second the suggestion about viewing Wishes from the Contemporary. You could also find a spot along the shore one night for the Electric Water Pageant. Make those reservations and enjoy!!!

personally, I feel it'd be a waste if I didn;t visit at least 1 park on 1 day while I was there. Being on property is the way to go, and I agree that the resort hopping would be a good way to spend the time, but it's also a potential waste of money if you're planning on uying souvenirs and such at some of the various gift shops at the resorts. I'd rather spend that money buying a single use ticket and play in one of the parks...

but on the whole, I agree with everyone in that something is better than nothing

Although it would suck if I couldn't go to a park, I agree with you all just being on site would be a blast. Resort hopping would be awesome of course, and then I always have a great time just wandering around Down Town Disney.

Plus don't forget, there is always the resort pools!!

I could probably spend a good 2-3 days at YC/BC with Stormalong Bay and not miss any park time. Couple it with the busy area of the Boardwalk and some shopping at DTD and you've got a nice 3-4 day timeframe of fun times outside of the park. 8)

It would be painful to be that close to EPCOT and not go in, but a little magic is better than no magic.

I've known of couples who have gone without their kids and done minimal time in the parks, and they still had a great time.

Not having park access is an excellent opportunity to discover all that WDW has to offer! You can still do things like the Hoo De Doo revue, the Luau or the American BBQ. You can also listen to the music for Illuminations and see the fireworks portion from the Bridge in between Boardwalk and Y & B. Don't forget Disneyquest or take in la Nouba (Cirque du Soliel). You have a number of character meals to choose from and numerous activities like bike riding, swimming, golf, tennis.

You could also take advantage of the resort spas or even go wine tasting in some of the resorts.

I especially enjoy taking all the different modes of transport all over property (like the Sassagoula River Cruise, or the boat ride from MGM to Epcot then take the Monorail from EPCOT to TTC, switch to the monorail to MK and then take a bus to AKingdom lodge and look at the animals on their savannah).

Also keep in mind that during certain times of the year The Marketplace has special events - such as the Festival of the Masters art festival in November. You should go to the Calendar and then click on the Special Events link and choose the Downtown Disney Area link and it list all the events occuring in the Downtown Disney area http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/ca ... My wife and I just spent the entire Labor Day weekend at WDW without going to the parks. We stayed at Saratoga Springs, used the pools, spa, rented the little Mouse Boats at Wilderness Lodge and spent an hour boating at Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon, went to the Poly lounge and met with friends for drinks, had an incredible time and did not do the parks.

I think the real question is can you get a killer deal that includes park tickets. This time of the year you can sometimes get package deals with the resort, meal plan and tickets.

Umm I think it would be physically impossible for me not to go in a park!

I was in Myrtle Beach SC, and seriously thought about driving the rest of the way just to get into one of the parks

I might have some issues......

I'm sure there are some cast members that if they heard your story would offer a free entrance...the chances of that would be worth the visit and as stated above...the resorts are worth the trip alone.
