Just got back from On With the Show. I had no idea I would be spending so much time in front of a computer screen. Also, costuming is ridiculous. I don't know what type of measurements they use when they make them but they certainly aren't the ones used by the rest of the world. At least my costume isn't as hideously ugly on me as I thought it was. I'll post a pic of me in it next week when I go in for my training.

Yeah the computer learning was really long, but they at least had characters and stuff.

I remember filling out the costumes sizes, and then when I got them, they were crossed out and filled in with more accurate sizes, and even then it took more than an hour to find the right ones. One of the worst experiences of my life.

Good to know other people had problems with the sizes

I actually had the fewest problems of the group. I had everything right on the second try. Others were on their 4th and still hadn't found one yet as I was clocking out.

Oh yeah, costuming sizes. Took a couple of attempts to get one that fit(ish) me. As I remember it, Small was too small and Medium was too big. I ended up wearing Medium shirts and trying to tuck all teh spare away somewhere :P

I've just had a thought.

Exactly a year ago I'd just arrived in Florida to start my Disney adventure.

Where did the last year go?

Last night was creepy. My night detail was to clean the American Adventure Theater and I walked in with my friend Cherie who showed me where all the vaccums are and stuff. Well we walked in and some lights were on, and it was still a little weird then I yelled out "America did not exist" (you know the beginning of the show). And as soon as I said that, all the lights went out. It was so weird being so dark because the Statues on the side were still lit up so it felt a little haunted.

Back to beers around the world, I had one beer in each country. It was real fun, we took a lot of breaks between drinking. We watched the Canada movie, France movie and American Adventure. I was feeling fine until after I finished the germany beer. Once I started drinking the China beer, I was starting to actually feel drunk. But I knew I couldn't chicken out and stop drinking now with only 2 more countries to go in an hour. So I had my mexico beer at 9:00 during Illuminations. It was a good time.

You know, it's been 4 weeks since I've been here and I haven't been on Space Mountain yet. Well since Haunted Mansion opens this week, I plan to go to Magic Kingdom tomorrow to go on rides I havent been or been on enough (Splash Mountain). Then I plan to go back on Thursday to ride Haunted Mansion to give you guys an update on how it looks now.

Next tuesday, my roommate and I finally have the same day off so I will be going to Universal for the very first time. That should be interesting. I feel like a traitor to Disney!

Good to see you're enjoying your time there :)

What're the Chatham apartments like? I stayed in Vista Way whilst I was there and never saw the inside of Chatham.

Hmm. I've only been to Vista a few times, and only in a couple of the apartments. From what I can tell, Chatham is newer, but not new. I did notice that a lot of the appliances and overall design to Vista is older, and more worn.

When we first got into our apartment at Chatham we noticed the carpet was a bit messed up, so we called maintenance and then a few days later they came to replace a chunk of it. So we had old carpet, and a spot of new, greener carpet.

Tell me about it. Now it's exactly a year since I was there. I keep thinking back to what I was doing at this time last year. Right now I was obviously sleeping since it's 5am, but today (Wednesday, which last year was Tuesday 12th) was a day of filling in lots of forms as I recall. It was also the day that I went into one of the parks for the first time ever, Epcot. Test Track was my first attraction, followed by Soarin' and IllumiNations (we didn't get into the park until 8!). AHHH! So many memories..

Finished my first day of training as a greeter today. There is quite a bit more to taking tickets than there looks thanks to fickle machines and confused guests.

On Wednesday, I worked from 6 to 12 at the World Showplace (The Millenium Celebration Building). The party that was going on was the National Black MBA Association. All I had to do was stand there to make an appearance then check out the restroom every 1/2 hour. Their restroom is HUGE though, probably 15 urinals and 15 toilets. Luckily it didn't get too dirty so it was a pretty easy day.

Thursday was Haunted Mansion day, I'm glad I had it off because it is awesome now. The line was already 30 minutes at 9:30 but the line continually moved which makes its that much better. I won't spoil anything for those of you who don't want to know the details but I was really happy about it. I stayed in Magic Kingdom and all day and rode/saw almost everything. I even relaxed and people watched which is my favorite thing to do. One thing I was disappointed about was they got rid of the rocking chairs in Frontierland. I just wanted to grab a seat as people stroll by but no such luck as they were not there.

Friday was my other day off so I went to EPCOT with my friend Kyle. We went on TT, MS and Soarin and some other rides. We also ate at Rose & Crown in the dining room (my first time there). I really enjoyed it and would eat there again. We ate outside and now i'm jealous of anyone who sits over there for Illuminations. I think it would be amazing to sit there to see that wonderful show from that view.

Last night, another crazy florida storm hit us. I hate the rain!

Just got home from day #2 and I'm really hurting. My roommate kept me up last night because he was so loud so I didn't get much sleep before I had to get up at 6. I was on my feet and out in the heat for pretty much the entire 8 hours today.

I don't know how you CP'ers do it. If I had to do that 4,5,or 6 days in a row I'm fairly certain I'd crumble.
