Yeah, but I guess I think I shouldn't have to trade my number 1 drafted player to attempt to get a somewhat decent RB. Because, then I don't even have Steve Smith anymore.

And it's not just that one pick. It was my entire draft screwed up. It drafted 3 WRs in my first 4 picks. And I don't want 3 TEs.

Not to mention the fact that it gave me the Redskins as my 13th pick (99 overall) and second (of three) defense. They are the number 31 ranked defense in the league, with 12 defenses ranked higher in the FA.

I know that I can try to scramble around and try to get some slightly better than average players. But, my team will never truly be competitive.

So, I'm done.

Well that's disappointing to hear. I did move the draft date around a couple times to try to accommodate everyone, and I don't think it's fair to say any one team is screwed out the gate... especially when many teams were autopicked, not just one.

I hope you aren't giving up before we start. Rock the waiver wire, work the tradebait you have... it's part of the game, too

EDIT:

Franly, afer looking at your team, I would drop or trade the Giants, Redskins, Akers, Martin, and Losman. Pick up some RBs and WRs in there, and your team is fine... franly, your starting squad is a bit frigthening... Chad Johnson, Steve smith, and Lee Evans on the same team? That's a helluva receiver corps. Shore up your bench and you will be very competitive.

I'm sorry the draft didn't work out like you'd hoped, but to say this team is through before the season starts is simply wrong...

I agree with spaulo, that is an excellent group of receivers. After checking out the roster, I would guess the team is going to be quite competitive. Hopefully you can at least make sure to start people without byes, and the season could turn out well. Once again, good luck to everyone!

SWHorn, if you want to talk competitive, I have a little piece of software that takes fantasy football rosters and schedules, and projects win-loss records by looking at byes and reallife opponents and stuff.

This system says if no rosters changed, no one got injured, etc, your team would go 5-5 with 4 games too close to call... sounds competitive to me.

Of course, the same system says I should go 11-0 with three games too close to call  ... but your team is definitely competitive.

Just try to upgrade at RB... that's your only weakness...

To be perfectly honest, I don’t see any of the other teams that had the auto-draft screw up like mine did. No one else had it draft 3 WRs in the first 4 rounds. Yes, those WRs are awesome, and anyone would love to have them on their team. But, they are the best players I have...and they are only WRs. I missed out on top-flight RBs. And, now, this awesome group of receivers is comprised of the same players that I’m supposed to use as tradebait. So, I get rid of the top receivers to get some mediocre RBs?

I'm sorry that I wasn't able to be here on Sunday. I don't have a problem with not making the live draft. What I do have a problem with is the auto system that drafts the number 23 and 31 defenses for me. I don't expect everything to be perfect, but I would hope (for everyone) for a draft that was somewhat comparable to the other teams in the league.

The fact that there is a good-sized list of players that need to be dropped or traded from my team upfront is silly. Have you seen the available players in the FA?

I know that trading and waivers are a part of fantasy football. But, it’s not supposed to be a part of it the day after the draft…not for half of your team.

I really do appreciate you setting up the league. Good luck, and I hope you all have fun! :)

I wouldn't be so quick to count yourself out. You really do have a pretty good team. Clinton Portis is one oth the better running backs as long as he is healthy. Ronnie Brown will have a solid year on an improved Miami team, and picking up Brandon Jackson will be huge. He is a major sleeper pick, now the #1 RB in GB. Julius Jones is a guaranteed 1000+ yards if he stays healthy, and he should get more TD this year. Your RB situation won't prove to be as bad as you think. You are stacked at WR.

Your team is projected to kick my teams but week 1. :(

Hope this doesn't offend, but...

I didn't get all the players I wanted, so am I crying about my team?? You missed the draft, while 3 1/2 of us made the effort to be there, so deal with it. Play the game, and see what happens, you never known what can happen until you play the season. /rant

Wow, that was a little out of line. SWHorn's gripe is valid. A draft system that cares nothing for the rankings that a manager takes the time to do is worthless. If the system can't figure out a simple thing like to pick the top user-ranked player first when the user's turn rolls around, then what do you think the rest of the season will be like?

I'd be interested to hear your opinion when your starting QB doesn't get points for some TDs or a defense doesn't get credit for an interception. When you lose a game or two because the computer hiccuped on the scores, maybe you'll understand.

If SWHorn really wants to quit before the seasons starts, then can we find a replacement manager for her team? An 8-team league (where, I will add, there is plenty of talent to go around) cannot work with a deadwood team sitting there not being utilized.

EDIT:
I want to make it clear that I hope hope hope SWHorn wants to stick it out with us, but that if that isn't possible, we move forward with what's best for the league.

P.S. Please don't quit! :)

Wow! The Colts really ran away with that game in the second half. The made New Orleans look bad.

I hear you, bronco... I have Reggie Bush in a few leagues. 4-5 points (depending on scoring system) out of a running back is pretty much an unmitigated disaster.
