How many days make a perfect Disney World Vacation?

I would love to do a 14 day trip, but we usually do 7 nights 8 days. We always take a late flight home so we have the whole last day in a park. I always have someone watch my cats while I am away and I think it would be too much to ask someone to watch them more than a week. Plus, I take care of a whole bunch of stray cats that someone else feeds while I am away. Just to much to ask someone to do! Two weeks would be a dream trip!

On your first trip I think that it is essential to go for at least a week in order to not be overwhelmed. I talk to so many people who say that they go to Disney World for the first time and they need a vacation from their vacation. I ask them how long they were there for and they say 5 days and they did everything they could. 5 days is just not enough time to stay at WDW. Of course you are going to wear yourself out running around because there is just soooo much to see and do. And you really never see everything at WDW.

I chose 7 day / 6 nights due to the frequency we have visited the parks 01,03,06,07,planning 08. we are starting to enjoy the hotels more for what they offer as well as the Water Parks and actually taking our time in the Kingdoms. (not animal kingdom of course...thats still a half day visit.) we found that with the Park Hopper pass we can visit Epcot in the morning take in half the showcase and lunch then walk to MGM...oops Disney Hollywood, in one day. after we hit the highlights of the parks we go back for a slower tour and the time is just right that we don't want to leave and look forward to our next return. i think i messed up the numbers on the poll...so i'll go fix them.....i put 6 day 7 night...laugh..oops. Wisney Dorld!

It depends a lot on who is going. A couple going is different than a family of 5 with young ones. In general a couple can get up at 7am, and keep going without much of a break till Midnight. Also adults can do more "adult things" like walking though world showcase, or waiting on a show.

But in general I would say first time 5 or 6 days. No more. There is plenty to do. But I think you'll get overwhelmed. Plan a day at each park, then plan on going back to parks you like.

It also depends on how long you think it will be before you go back. I can see staying a few more days if you're going to visit the waterparks or you won't be able to come back for a while. But regardless of how long you plan you won't be able to "do it all."

What would you say then for someone who has been to the magic kingdom at disneyland hundreds of times? I mean, arent they pretty similiar as far as rides go? I know there are several rides at the WDW magic kingdom that DLR doesnt have, but i dont think id be missing too much or will i?

Ive never been to WDW and am trying to plan a trip soon. I was thinking like 5 or 6 days at most....would that be more realistic considering my situation??

having been to Disneyland once (1976) i'm not the best but i do know that the other 2.5 parks that WDW has makes it more extensive and if you add in the Water Parks....plus you'll want to check out the differences between the two Disneylands, cry some laugh some....i'd still go for the 7day 6 night package as a minimum. but thats just my opinion...i have only been to WDW 7 times in my life and in 5 days will be #8 #9 comes Sept of 2008....perhaps i'll wait till 2010 for trip #10! and go all out on the trip..you know purchase the refillable resort mug...i like to live life dangerously!

I would say for first timers, 7 days would be enough that they wouldn't completely wear themselves out and could still see all the 'big stuff'. 10 days would be good if you could convince them there was really 10 days worth of stuff to do (some people don't believe me when I tell them I've stayed 14 days on occasion and there are still things I've never done).

Myself, I could easily stay a three weeks to a month and not get burned out. Maybe longer. Ah, if only money were no object.

I think 9 nights and 10 days is a good amount of time in Disney World, I have been on vacations that have gone into the the 12-13 night stays. its really nice to stay that long. But for financial and practical reasons now, 9 nights is a good amount of time.

To do it right and have some relaxation time as well I would tell them 10 days min. If they don't have that kind of time, then I would say 6/7 for sure. That would leave less time for relaxing, but you can still have a great vacation in that amount of time.

I think the DL rides were "more intense" compared to the Magic Kingdom at WDW personally. Or at least, they were; as ever, my info is a few years out-dated.

If you have the time and money to see WDW's Magic Kingdom, I'd go, just to compare the two parks for yourself.

For any vacation, I would normally say that 7-day/6-night would be ideal, but for a Disney Vacation, a 10-day/9-night stay would be excellent. Not too long, but not to short either. Then again, I may opt for the 7-day at Disneyland since WDW is so much bigger.

All the way from the UK. You can't stay less than two weeks or you will miss something.

Two weeks is a good length of time for a first trip, three if you can afford the time and money. 8)

I say seven days cause that gives you plenty of time to see everything without rushing. Last I went was for only five days and I felt rushed. Fourteen days is two long and I would feel bored by the end of it.

2 days MK
1 day AK
1 day MGM
1 day Typhoon or Blizzard

All of this in 7 days may be possible but I would be burnt out.

And it wouldn't leave me time for Universal, Seaworld etc.
