After reading this, I start to wonder maybe these Pixar attractions should be moved to their proper place. I have always thought they were in the wrong place. I used to like tomorrowland a lot more but now it just seems like toonland. I think they need the original type attractions like the Space Mountains, Dreamflight
and more futuristic attractions.

Just a quick aside. I am always spanning the internet in search of Disney rumors and news. For the name change the top 3 rumors where: Disney-ABC Studios, Disney-Pixar Studios, and Walt Disney Studios Florida.
Just goes to show you that rumors are sometimes just rumors
Also for those of you who are worried about the Great movie rides future.. you can feel safe for a while.

Wasn't the Wizard of Oz the whole reason for the MGM name? I thought I read someplace that MGM didn't want people thinking that the Wizard of Oz was a Disney movie.

Part of the renaming is also for the guests from other countries. To Americans, Studios implies movies, where many other nations don't recognize the word. However, Hollywood is a recognized symbol of American Movies world-wide.

But I'm wondering. If they are going to build a Crush like coaster... what does that have to do with Hollywood?

I did a quick search for the "Crush" coaster and didn't find anything. Is this a coaster at DL Paris or Hong Kong? What can you tell me about the ride?

It's a very new coater at Walt Disney Studios in Paris. They were testing it whilst I was there, there's some photos of the exterior here:

It's a spinny spinny wild mouse type ride themed to Finding Nemo, and uses some similar techniques to The Seas with Nemo and Friends at Epcot for showing the "live" characters.

so, it's kind of like the Primeval Whirl at AK meets the Seas with Nemo and Friends at EPCOT...?

As far as I can tell, yes. Although for the darkride style bit, you aren't zooming around and spinning

I'm a bit surprised, I'm not good with change, so I don't know if I like the new name yet?! As long as they don't rid of the Great Movie Ride!!!!

Why did they have to stop using the name MGM by 2007? It sounds like free advertising to me... It''ll be hard for me to stop calling it MGM Studios also.

Interesting.
While I'm happy that it's not Disney-Pixar, I can't help but salivate at the thought of moving all the recent Pixar infestations into a single area, thus restoring the theming of all those other places.
Given that that's not going to happen, I think the new name is a mediocre, but not horrible change, which is pretty good these days. I think dropping the word "Studios" would have been an even better choice, since the studio concept is an extremely lame one for a theme park, and most of the attractions don't make sense within that context anyway.
The Tower is a completely new experience, based on, but unrelated to any specific Twilight Zone episode, and it's certainly not about the making of the show. I don't see what a roller coaster that plays Aerosmith at you has to do with a studio at all. And I'd rather they just put on an entertaining stunt show at the Indy pavilion, rather than pretend to show you some insight into how films are made (which is both inaccurate and boring).
Of course, if you toss out the studios idea, then you really have nothing tying all that stuff together, which speaks more to the park's theming than the name, I guess.
