For what it's worth, there's some pictures of "Crush's Coaster" in Disneyland Resort Paris here:

Unfortunately it wasn't open when I was there, since the opening wasn't for another couple of weeks

If they bring the version of Crush's Coaster and update it with trains rather than just the single cars it should be a huge hit. I was at Knott's the weekend Sierra Sidewinder opened, the same type of attraction WDW would get, and everybody loved it. I thought it was the perfect ride for the entire family to enjoy together.

The new name is OK; better than Disney-Pixar would have been. I don't have strong feelings about it... the studio is my least favorite of the WDW parks and we usually only spend about half a day there. It lost its magic when they got rid of the animation tour, which was the highlight of our MGM visit the couple of times we were able to see it.

I've actually been hearing about this name change for years. (I was a cast member until January 2006.) So I'm not surprised at all. A lot of CMs refer to it as "The Studios" anyway, and I was once told that they do this because of the possibility that someday they might drop the MGM out of it.
I think it's a fitting change, but it'll definitely take some getting used to, and I wish I had some Disney-MGM Studios lying around so I could hang onto it for a couple decades and let it appreciate in value.

I'm wondering though, with the park now focused to remind you of Hollywood and not MGM studios will they be adding more to give you the feel? Like perhaps stalking paparazzi, drunk and/or drugged out actors, and half naked young actresses thinking they are great role models?
