by all means, continue to weave the web as much as you please. I was just curious, as for a 2 or 3 day stay, most people do just a couple of posts, and you're on the 7th part, and keep hinting at more. just a bit surprised by that. but, like I said, I enjoy the tale thus far...

It was originally supposed to be two posts. It ended up being more because 1. I was too busy to write everything I wanted to write in one sitting. 2. Everyone seems to enjoy it. 3. I like to write 4. Writing about Disneyland allows me to relive memoriesjs3901 wrote:by all means, continue to weave the web as much as you please. So, sorry if this is long.
Part 8
We walked towards Splash Mountain but my dad stopped. We reminded him, "These people are going to be moving soon. We need to go!" "No, not yet," he said stubbornly. "Not until I see the dragon." So we waited around to see Mickey battle the dragon and then hurried on to check on Splash Mountain. Still no progress. We had to go back and battle the crowd again. We went over to Pirates of the Caribbean and got onto a boat with a teenager wearing a blinking princess crown. I figured that some cast member would tell her to turn it off, but we were already in the boat and passing by the Blue Bayou. The multi-colored lights reflected off the water, distracting me to the point where I wanted to turn around and throw her crown out of the boat entirely. It wasn't until just before going over the waterfall that a voice from the heavens (a cast member) said, "Please turn off all flashing mickey ears and princess crowns for the courtesy of those around you. Thank you." I was relieved but annoyed by the group who couldn't stop talking during the remainder of the ride. Well, at least we had already gone on it several times that day. We went over to Tomorrowland and went on various rides such as Space Mountain and the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger ride. I still can't understand why my family likes that ride (Space Ranger ride) so much. (Most likely it is because it is very competitive.) We would go on the ride and it would break down just at the right moment where you could get easy points by shooting at the targets. My dad bragged he almost got Galactic Hero (1,000,000 points?). But I doubt it, since it is near impossible. I think he got that level confused with level 4 (100,000). Since the line was short (as well as time), we scurried over to Star Tours. I tried to find the hidden Ewok in the conveyor belt above me. I looked and informed the others of how the robots used to be birds from America Sings but got put into the Star Tours queue and Splash Mountain. I remembered to look for the microscope, a tribute to "Adventures through Inner Space," on the ride. There weren't too many people, so it seemed like the Cast Members were having fun. Despite the lack of people, there was some wait in getting the ride started, so the CM started talking to us. "Is the guy in the black cape a good guy or a bad guy?" is an example of the kinds of questions he posed. He started to close the doors using "the force" and the ride began. After this, we looked at our watch. Ten minutes until the park closed. Ten minutes to get to Splash Mountain. We didn't even know if it was even fixed yet. Only one way to find out.
"Will Magique and her family get to Splash Mountain in time? Did Splash Mountain get fixed or is all their running around for nothing? Find out in the penultimate installment!"

Alright. Sorry, I've been busy this past week and haven't been online in a while.
Part 9
So, we run like mad towards Splash Mountain. As we approached, the screams confirmed that the ride was still running. But will we have enough time to get through the long queue maze? Only one group of teenager girls was ahead of us as we ran through the almost empty line. We managed to get on the ride just in time. It was a lot of fun, since we knew we were some of the last people to get on the ride. I sat in the front (not the smartest thing to do, but it was the last ride of the day and I didn't mind getting wet). It was a lot of fun! We got to the end and the girls in front of us begged the CMs, "One more ride! One more ride!" "Oh, alright," they told them. The girls screamed in delight. The ride moved forward. We stayed in our seats, hoping they would let us through as well. "Sorry, we really need to get people off now." Awww... we were ALMOST the last ride of the night. That wasn't to say we weren't happy though. We had a successful day and were happy with getting that last ride in. We walked through the practically empty park to Main Street. (On a side note, the night before, we went home early after Fantasmic had finished ((we didn't watch it, we just got caught in the foot traffic)) so they opened up another gate to let more people get to the front of the park. Basically, we had a backstage walk of Disneyland! We walked behind several shops and rides and got to see the part of Disneyland most guests don't see. It was fascinating. And we got to the front of the park a lot faster. It was a nice shortcut.) The minute we got back to the hotel, we immediately hit the beds and went to sleep. It would be sad to leave the next day. Time went by so quickly. My mom promised we would be able to go to the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney before we left, so at least we had something to look forward to.
"Will Magique buy anything at the store? Will her parents allow her to stay in LA an extra day? What does the next day have in store for Magique and her family? Find out in the final installment!"

FINAL INSTALLMENT
PART 10
The next morning we wake up and get all our things packed. We are sad to leave, but everyone (except maybe me) has been "Disney-ed" out. "I'll be alright for at least a couple of years," my dad says in response to the discussion of another Disneyland trip. While my dad puts more things away, my mother, my sisters, and I go to the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. It was sad to watch all the happy families walk beyond the stores to the Disney themed parks while knowing that we wouldn't get a chance for another "couple of years." Into the store we went, on the lookout for any interesting Disney souvenirs. My mom allowed us each to buy a pen. I immediately took the "Nightmare before Christmas" pen, mostly purple, with the title of the movie on its side complete with a Zero (that is to say, the ghost dog in the movie, not the number) that had a magnet attached and sometimes would stick to the side of the pen. My other two sisters both settled on a similar pen that instead had Buzz Lightyear as the magnet piece. (One of my sisters was slightly disappointed because she liked both pens and we had picked "the best ones.") We also got a Disney magnet frame for our fridge, since we had gotten one in Disney World years and years ago and we thought we should get one from Disneyland as well. After our purchases, we passed by a candy shop and I reminded my mom that we had a coupon from our travel agent for the shop. We got in, and my mom decided that it wouldn't be the best idea to get candy (the shop wasn't a pick-and-choose type but held the candy in their own individual containers). We were also running out of time to check out of the hotel, so we hurried back to go help my dad. It was sad, leaving. Knowing that you wouldn't be back for a long while. But it certainly was a memorable trip. I will never forget it. And if I do, I always have this site to remind me.

Aww, what a cute ending.
Sorry I missed it when you posted last week Magique - I was wondering when the last installment would arrive and finally went searching for it today. Glad you had such a fabulous trip and that your dad decides that two years is much too long!

Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.
Magique- Sorry that I missed the last few installments, but I have been without internet for a few weeks. Glad that I finally have it back, and was able to finish reading your story. Glad you had a fab trip, and I know what you mean about feeling sad when you leave DL, not knowing how soon you are going back.

Thanks for the comments everyone!
(I wish).
I hope my dad thinks that two years is too long. I really don't know when I will be going back to Disneyland. I don't think I will be able to next year, since my mom is planning a trip to Europe for a graduation present. Maybe I'll get to go to Disneyland Paris!Esmeralda wrote:Aww, what a cute ending.
