Mickey's not so scary halloween party

Post by jozel27 » Jul Tue 24, 2007 7:48 am

I was just wondering something about the party? While the fireworks and the second parade is going on, can you still go on the ride? I would assume so, but I want to make sure. We want to go and we will probably see the 1st parade and then want to be able to hit all the trick or treat spots and rides after and may miss the fireworks because of it.

Thanks for the info. :D [/quote]

Yes, you can go on other rides while the parade and/or fireworks are going on.

The smart thing to do is skip 1st parade and see 2nd parade because the 2nd parade will be far less crowded.

Here is some info and ideas:

EASY TO DO & EASY TO PACK COSTUME IDEAS

101 Dalmatians.... You could take white shorts/pants and t-shirts and go to town with spots! Ears could be made out of felt or craft foam on ball caps (esp for the guys) or maybe headbands for the ladies.

The Mickey Mouse Club....Red pants, mouse ears,t-shirts with each ones name on it.

Baseball players...Your favorite team's jersey/t-shirt and a ball cap, shorts or sweats and sneakers.

Pirate....Easy and light weight too. Black shorts or capris, striped shirt, bandana,an eye patch,a hoop earring and there ya go....arrrrrrrrrrgh matey!!!

Hippies...tye dye shirts,denim pants,peace sign jewelry,bandana around your head,round glasses.

I found several pretty cool sites for make your own. There are 100's of places to buy costumes online!

Thought I'd share these with my DIS Trick or Treaters!

Also if your not into wearing an actual costume you could make your own t-shirt.Here's a link to the Creative DISigns boards were there are lots of ideas for t-shirts! http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=105

My DW moderates on another site (the Dis, she's Baloo) and she is the resident MNSSHP expert on there. She has graciously let me share the information she's written up through the years over here.
This will be DW and DS#2's, 12th MNSSHP in 2006.Me and my DS#1 have catching up to do as this will only be our 5th party!

This is a great time of year to be at WDW because the kids get free candy at MNSSHP and Mommy and Daddy can get samples of food and wine ( for a small price) at Epcot's Food and Wine Festival!

The dates for F&W are:September 29 through November 12, 2006

The dates and ticket prices for MNSSHP are for 2006.

The INFORMATION is from last year,2005 but things basically stay the same each year. DW updates her information after the first party and finds out what's new for that year.

I don't have my DW's new info yet, but when I do, I'll post it.

I went to the MNSSHP both last year (2006) and the year before (2005) and had a great time at both. I would recommend you drive to the park and pay the 10 dollar fee if you are staying offsite, most hotels offsite only pick up to a certain time. The line for Big Thunder Mountain is always bad after the first parade, but Space Mountain was very easy to get onto. So if you time it right you can get on Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain during the first parade, and than hit Space Mountain right when it ends. Also, do not miss the fireworks, yeah, I know that eats into your ride time, but the fireworks were awesome and not to be missed. Well, I hope that helps you, good luck and above all, have fun!

The last time we went I remember during the parade and fireworks were the best times to ride the rides, get pictures taken (there are several places to do this), and go through the candy lines because everyone else was watching the parade/fireworks.

One of the times we were down also I remember that my dad and I wanted to watch the fireworks but my daughter was scared of the noise so my mom and husband took her on the "Snow White" ride about 5 times in a row while they were going on!

UM, Fantasyland is closed during the fireworks.........but I know what you mean about the timing. I loved going to the candy stations close to closing because they would give me huge fistfuls of candy......thats actually how I get most of my candy for Halloween night.......I'm so cheap.

Excited about the Halloween party. We will be down the week of October 7th. Can anyone suggest the best place to meet the characters in costume? We went to toon town last year but only saw Minnie in her costume. Would love to get pictures with some of the other characters in their costumes!
Thanks

Thought I saw somewhere that MGM will be having it's own party this year - a bit more on the scary side than the Not So Scary party. Am I imagining things or is this real?

Fantasyland wasn't closed during the fireworks for the party we were at in 2005. I screwed up on timing and forgot about the fireworks. We were in the middle of Fantasyland when they started and I was very upset because I had wanted to view them from a better location.

Do you know any details or have any idea where to find them? Glad to see the expansion of the Halloween celebration! Can't wait till I graduate so I can get to the parks in the fall and not have to worry about homework.

Does anyone know if this MGM party will be a ticketed function? Or when it is going to take place?
