I have actually been to almost all of the resorts on Disney property (save carribbean , swan and dolphin, and Old Key West) and without a doubt my favorite is the Contemporary Resort. It has a great view and until Disneyquest was built it had the best arcade on property, a fine resort.

I just love the Polynesian hotel in WDW...

It just feels like you're really on vacation when you stay there...So tropical and lovely...

WoW!!!! I've only been to WDW once and that was circa 1980!?!?!?!?! (Not to mention I was only knee high at the time and if any of you know me you know that was a LONG time ago) With everyone talking about their favorites I am feeling a need to get to Orlando sometime SOON!!!!!

While I've been down to WDW a number of times (bordering on about 8 times in my life), I've never had the chance to stay on property. But I'm going to next time I go down (hopefully in 2006 sometime).

I hope one day to stay at least 1 night in EVERY resort hotel on WDW property... :D

My vote would be for:

1. Contemporary - Tower Room
2. Grand Floridian

and at the bottom would be the Carribean - I stayed there in 2000 and it was shabby and in need of updating and the food court was horrible.

just my 2 cents

So hard to choose!

We have now stayed at:
Caribbean Beach Resort
Polynesian
Beach Club Villas
Villas at the Wilderness Lodge
Old Key West

If I had to rank them, the DVC resorts would come first, just because I LOVE having a kitchen and cooking on vacation, but I am a monorail nut, so staying at the Polynesian was like a dream come true. I will always be nostalgic about CBR since that is the first place we stayed on-site and the first time my hubby and I ever went to WDW without the kiddos.

Hey, bigboodah -- my DREAM is to stay at the Grand Floridian! I think when DH and I do our WDW vow renewal, that is where we will "honeymoon"!

Grand Floridian

For me, it's the Flo, no question, not so much because of how it looks or feels, but because of how I'm treated when I'm there. As wonderful as all the Cast Members are at all of the WDW hotels, I've never been treated as well at any hotel in the world as I have been treated at the Grand Floridian.

Lives change, and I can't afford to stay there anymore, but it's still my personal crown jewel.

After the Flo, I agree with everyone who voted for Wilderness Lodge. GORGEOUS!!

I liked Old Key West too till they doubled the rate for them. Only bad thing there was the buses seem to take forever to get to you.

Would you happen to know which building to request when visiting the Polynesian? I have heard that some rooms are a bit larger and cleaner then others. :?:

I have never noticed a major difference in the rooms other then the view. Once we were on the lagoon view facing the castle and it was a magical moment for the kids.
