BAH! Same here really we decided to go because neither of us were ever there before. I was at the MNSSHP 4 times this year and plan on doing it again and go to some MVMCP too, if I have enough vacation time next year.

I had been to MVMCP in 2001 with DD who was a college program cast member at the time. My family went to MVMCP the week just before Christmas, 2005. We paid a lot of money for the "holiday" extras. Then, on Dec 22, Disney had the same parade and fireworks that we paid dearly for two nights before. I believe that was some expensive hot cocoa and cookies.

If you go to WDW before the 20th of December, I think MVMCP is a great idea. It gets you in the Christmas spirit.

It wasn't just the parade and fireworks. It was all the shows, like the Night Before Christmas in Tomorrowland and the storytime readings.

So, what you miss out on a dance party or something? Ridiculous.

Is anyone planning on doing the MVMCP this year? I am arriving at WDW on December 3rd and departing on December 9th. I was wondering If I am better off going on Tuesday the 3rd or Thursday or Friday evening. Any thoughts?

Well if you are an AP/DVC member it's better to go on Tuesday (because you get a discount.) Following that logic Tuesday would be less crowded, because Disney is willing to give discounts to those parties.

We are going on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, we normally go to the ones on Tuesday, but this year it didn't work out.

And how many people were in the park on the 22nd vs. the night of MVMCP? Because when I've gone (2x) to MVMCP, basically every ride is open, and the population of the park goes waaaaaaaay down. I've heard they cap ticket sales around 12-15k, rather than the 50k+ that are allowed in on the busiest days.

Hard-ticketed after-hours events are partly about enjoying the park with less people around... at MVMCP '04 I rode Big Thunder twice in a row, without getting out of my seat, with no one else on the train. That didn't last long, of course, but holy crap that's impossible under normal circumstances.

I love MVMCP, and when my wife and I go back to WDW this early December, we'll go again.

While there are fewer people in the park for hard ticket events. I get the feeling they have been letting the numbers creep up over the years.

jiminycricket, - I think I am going to go with your suggestion and attend Tuesday evening. I was also thinking it would mostlikely be less crowded. This way, if I really enjoy it I can go again on Friday evening
