Soarin' Station
I was just wondering what music the Soarin' station plays as some of it is really nice (very John Williams). I cannot find a playlist for it.

Code: Select all
$ mp3length < Audio/Soarin/Soarin.lst

I listened to it the other day because the request generated a 60 minute loop of Paradise Pier which I didnt care for, so listening to Soarin' Station is a very good alternative selection
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

What code?
The little program that does the length of an MP3 file? Took me about 5 minutes in perl...
Code: Select all
#!/usr/bin/perl
use MP3::Info;
while ( <>) {
$n = $_;
chomp $n;
$i=get_mp3info( $n);
printf "%4d:%0.2d %s\n", $i->{MM}, $i->{SS}, $n;
$t += (60*$i->{MM})+$i->{SS};
}
printf "%4d:%0.2d TOTAL\n", $t/60, $t%60;
exit 0;

I'm not... That is all other people. I just setup the Soarin' station/channel, and Subsonic linked to it.Guy wrote:I didn't realise you were behind the design of the site.
I use both Icecast (Icecast.org), and shoutcast (shoutcast.com). Subsonic uses just shoutcast, as I recall. The website and designed and all of that is Subsonic, and some others (he'll have to speak up to tell you who all is involved with what.)

The Soarin' stream is an awesome addition! It's just the thing when something pops up in the Requests that I don't want to sit through (like the long, Sci-Fi track with all the cheesy movie trailers). Plus the music is perfect for listening while working; I never get tired of it. Thanks for making a great SR even better!

Hi!
I absolutely love Soarin' - the music and the ride, and love the Soarin' Station - when I heard a part of the Apollo 13 music, I started searching for info and found on Wikipedia that the music in all the waiting areas plus outside the ride building is music from a variety of Hollywood action and war films, including the themes from Patton (also by Jerry Goldsmith), The Last Starfighter, Air Force One, Apollo 13) etc.
I haven't posted before, so would like to thank everyone who is responsible for SR!
