Walk Around the World...
Anyone else have a Walk Around the World Stone at MK? We bought one in my brother's name when they became available (since he'd died just a couple years before) so that Erik would always "be" at WDW, as it were.
Has anyone else on here bought one of those? If so, wherebouts is it? Erik's is on the walk from MK toward the main boat dock.

I wanted one -a lot-, but my parents didn't want to get one the year I was pushing for it and the year after they stopped selling them. I love walking around reading them, though (trying not to bump into people in the process...).
I'll have to add yours to the list to look out for casrin. That's a really sweet gesture for your brother. =)

JWG,
Do they still do the Legacy tiles at EPCOT? When we were last there, to us, the plinths they were on looked like a giant cemetery.

We were going to get one of these, but Disney never said how long they were going to keep them.

When we bought Erik's Walk around the World stone back when, Disney had said they planned to have the stones go all the way around the Seven Seas Lagoon. Did that actually happen then? Or are the stones just around the MK front then?

It doesn't go all the way around because they never finished the part(s) that were supposed to go between the MK and Grand Floridian and I think between the Contemporary and the TTC (or wherever it was supposed to go on that side). But there are some stones out by the TTC itself, as well as between it and the Polynesian, and between the Poly and the GF (at least part way). There are some special stones by the Wedding Pavilion too.casrin wrote:When we bought Erik's Walk around the World stone back when, Disney had said they planned to have the stones go all the way around the Seven Seas Lagoon. Nope, sales stopped June 16 of this year. The sales kiosks and such have been removed. The display that used to be around the mirror pole under SSE earth has been removed and the mirrored column restored (pics are on wdwinfo).casrin wrote:JWG,

I'm wondering if the pics themselves will move in the next year or two. They can't get rid of them per the contract us buyer's have, but they can put them wherever they want.

Ahhhh. So they could end up anywhere, really.
That would stink since people like bought 'em, partly, because they were right there in front of SSE and at the front of EPCOT, you know?

Wow, I didn't know this. It will be interesting to see what they do with it.JWG wrote:Nope, sales stopped June 16 of this year. The sales kiosks and such have been removed.
