What sound defines Disney??

Movies, TV, music, and more. Here's the place to talk about anything Disney outside of the parks.

My vote would be "When You Wish Upon a Star." I don't think any song epitomizes the emotions and feelings associated with Disney more than that timeless classic.
"Our heritage and ideals, our code and standards--the things we live by and teach our children--are preserved or diminished by how freely we exchange ideas and feelings." -- Walter Elias Disney

I agree on that fact mainly when any media station mentions something about Disney. It always involves about your dreams and wishing upon a star for it to become true as the tune gets played in the background.

That song always makes me cry ;(
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

I use Zip A Dee Doo Dah for my ringtone (yay Cingular!). That's pretty classic defining Disney.

I'd agree with Zip a Dee Doo Dah. Or when you Wish upon a star...

We have Cingular (AT&T) for our cell phone service. So, for them, you go to their website (http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/welcome/), set up an account and then you can go browsing through ring tones to find what you want. We did a search for "Disney" specifically to find ours.

I'd assume other cell providers do it similarly, online? I guess you can also search on your phone, but if you don't have a web package (we don't), it costs per minute to do that.

I have the Mickey Mouse Club for my ring tone. It is so neat!! I love it when the phone rings. But, I would switch to the old Journey Into Imagination in a heart beat if I could.

AT&T offers this.

I know that Verizon has their ringtones through the Get it Now service they offer, ut it does cost airtime, as well as the cost of the ringtone itself (usually between $.99 - $1.99). I found a way to make my own ringtones. I currenylt have small 15 - 20 second clips of:

one little spark - Journey into Imagination
Steamboat Willie - Toontown Fair Area Music
Bear Band Serenade - Country Bear Jamboree
Grim Grinning Ghosts - Haunted Mansion
Yo Ho (Pirate's Life For Me) - PotC
Moving Right Along - Muppetvision queue
Ma na ma na - muppetvision queue

I also have some that are not Disney themed, but work fairly well...

it works for just about any carrier in the US - Verizon, Cingular, Sprint, Cricket, etc. I do believe that US Cellular is on the list that works.

Basically, the trick to doing it involves picture messaging (MMS). the soundclip is attached to the message, and you just save the sound as a ringtone. for example, if you have a picture messaging capable phone, I could send you one of my clips as a picture message. then, however your phone works, you would "save sound as..." and choose ringtone, or similar term.

It's a little different for each cell carrier, but it's fairly easy to do. Subsonic actually gave me the site to do it - http://www.funformobile.com/pages/ringt ... ngtone.php . give you steps on making your own ringtones as well, either by ripping from CD, mp3/wav, polyphonic, etc.

I actually have the first few bars of the Tiki Room on my phone. Most people know it's Dosney, others just give me a strange look.

I have different tones for different people. For my hubby it's "So This Is Love" from Cinderella. For the eldest child (13yo) it's a clip from "The Age of Not Believing" from Bedknobs and Broomsticks becuase he's most certainly at that age. For my youngest, who just got a cell phone, I have to clip out a bit of Hawaiian Roller Coaster ride becuase he's such a Stitch fan. I'd much rather have something from the ride itself (maybe something like "Not impossible! For Stitch!!!) but I haven't been able to find that clip yet. Anyone have a ridethru of the Stitch ride or know if it's on the list of stuff to be approved yet here so I can record a clip of it? For my mom, who's always been such magic in my life, it's "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo". And for general calls, it's a clip from the Main Street Electrical Parade.
