Fourth of July at the park

Hello, this is my very first post on here. I was wondering if anybody knows what goes on at disneyland park for the forth of July? Do they do anything special and is it very crowded?

It will be super super crowded. I know when i was a cast member, I dreded the big holidays.......But if you were scheduled a four hour shift, then you had to work a manditory eight.....But when the park was a mess. then you were pressured to do a voluntary ten........

The Fourth is usually one of the single busiest days of any given year, like Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Yes, what the above people said. In addition, to answer your first question. Disneyland does a special fireworks show with anthems and Americana music. It's usually pretty amazing and long!

Indeed, it is very very busy. I remember my uncle and I went to Disneyland on the 4th and we tried to get out of the parking lot, but it took hours! No one was controlling the traffic! That place was swamped when I was there.

Disney always does holidays right, so if you do go for the holiday it will be memorable...

I have been for New Years eve several times, it was sold out 60,000+ people and everyone crowds in front of the castle to watch the fireworks and countdown the new year. It was like a soccer stadium withthe crowds moving back in forth in waves...

It was unreal!

^Indeed. But so many people get so angry before hand. Once the show starts up, everyone is happy, but at the end of it, everyone wants to get out and make a mad dash for the exits.

Right on. You need to get into place early for any evening display and then be willing to just chill out on a park bench (if you can find one) or stand around for an hour or more letting the crowd filter out. Not worth getting involved in that mess. If you're a mad dasher after the fireworks, not worth the major holiday as you'll just get frustrated.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- In the place where Dreams Come True, more than 1,000 immigrants from dozens of countries will realize their dream of becoming United States citizens during a Naturalization ceremony on the Fourth of July at Walt Disney World Resort.

For the first time in its 35-year history, Disney's Magic Kingdom theme park will be the backdrop as Disney Parks and Resorts and United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) jointly host a "Dreams Come True" swearing-in ceremony on the forecourt of Cinderella Castle. The event will be open to park guests on Independence Day morning.

Presided over by Director of USCIS Emilio Gonzalez, dreamers from more than 75 countries will raise their right hand and take the Oath of Allegiance to become citizens. The ceremony will feature the presentation of the colors, a keynote address by U.S. Sen. Mel Martinez (R-FL), the national anthem performed by Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Gloria Estefan, the Oath of Allegiance and the Pledge of Allegiance. USCIS will also recognize Estefan and her husband Emilio as outstanding "Americans by Choice" for being exemplary naturalized citizens.

Besides the keynote address by Sen. Martinez, festivities will also include a stirring performance of "God Bless the U.S.A." by singer Lee Greenwood.

To cap a star-spangled morning, a squadron of U.S. Air Force F-15s will streak across the sky as America's newest citizens and their families join in their own July 4th parade down Main Street, U.S.A.

ericpabear, I saw that in my local paper. What a fantastic idea. It will be so crowded, but what a magical moment on the perfect day!

Man, great idea! Curious as to how the lucky folks got picked to be naturalized in front of the castle but what a memorable way have the ceremony!

ok, so I just got back from MK watching the July 3rd version of the July 4th fireworks. Yes the park was busy, but no where near as busy as last year. I expected long lines but never saw many rides more than 30 minutes, and only about 60 for space mountain.
