I don;t think they really poll in the area where you're put into theater A or theater B, they just count the boddies they move through the line. when you get to the "gate", they ask how many and then put you in one of the 3 rows on either the right, left, or middle.

We were there in October, hardly their busy season, and I waited 45 minutes with a FastPass. My wife rode separately after me (we have a daughter), and she waited nearly 40 minutes, as well.

FYI, when you get in line with a child who can't/won't ride. Tell the CM at the line queue that you'd like to do the "baby swap" and only one of you will have to wait. The other will be allowed to ride upon the first person's return to watch the child.

It doesn't get you your 45 minutes back, but it does get you the 40 minutes back from the 2nd time.
