Mary Poppins was really a lot of fun! Just don't expect it to be like the movie. A very different show. And even though I enjoyed the new music, it just didn't really hold well against the Sherman Brothers' songs. There is only one new song that I really enjoyed, and that was at the end of the show.

Still, that does not mean that I did not like the show. I loved it, and would definitely see it again without any hesitation.

Thats's all I have been doing since I got the Original London Cast CD of the musical, especially the Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious since it is such a catchy tune!

I saw Mary Poppins back in February in NYC and I agree, it's simply amazing! This has always been my all-time favorite Disney film and it was really a real treat to see it on the stage. The cast was outstanding and all the songs were really catchy.

And yes, the new version of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is really great! :D

Just got back from a trip to NYC with my family to see Mary Poppins for my mom's 50th birthday. It's her favorite movie of all time and is now her favorite stage show!

I loved the new music and all the acting and singing was phenomenal. The sets were outstanding - espeically the mechanics behind the magic in the kitchen! The show strays quite a bit from the movie, but seeing something familiar yet new makes it all the more exciting.

It's positively supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

I have never been to Broadway. :( I would really like to see Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins. My brother recently took his family to see the latter, and they all rave about it.

I've seen Beauty and the Beast a few times now. Such an awesome show. :)

I went and saw White Christmas, and it turned out that the lead (Bob) was Gaston in a Disney Theatrical production. It was so obvious too when he sang. That voice! :mickey:

Saw B&B twice and Lion King twice (once in Toronto). Both were so awesome that I bought the CDs. Worth every penny and then some.

I actually saw the Little Mermaid on Broadway on April 25. It was amazing! The costumes were incredible and the songs were sung beautfully. I had wondered how they were going to pull off the tales, etc but all the actors wore roller skates to simulate gliding in water with tales swinging up from their bums. There were also some interesting changes to the story like Ursulla and King Triton were siblings and they each received a special gift from their father Poseidon...Ursulla got the shell and Triton got the triton. My only concern about the show was the casting of Ursulla. Maybe I'm too much of a Pat Carroll fan but I was just unhappy with her performance but Ariel's voice was almost as good as Jody Benson's. And I'm happy to admit that my friend and I might have been the only two twenty-year olds there without children.

I have never seen any of the Disney Broadway plays but I hear Lion King is the best, I can't wait see it someday. Mary Poppins also sounds like a great idea for a play, but the commercials didn't look like exciting. :o
