It sounds like it may have already been decided, but what about Dennis Haysbert (President David Palmer on "24", and the Allstate spokesman) ? I would think his would be a good voice for the narration.

Yeah that would be a good one. Even if I thought of 24 and Allstate insurance every time I rode it !

How about James Earl Jones as Darth Vader narrating Spaceship Earth? That breathing noise would be scary in the dark.

See, I'd like to go back to it being a recognizable national voice - like a Dan Rather or better yet, Tom Brokaw.

I totally agree about Patrick Stewart. Who doesn't love him?! He's got one of the greatest voices ever, second only to James Earl Jones.

That would be sweet.

Yeah, that's what I said! James Earl Jones. I had a pic of Darth Vader posted in this thread yesterday but it suddenly disappeared.

In an effort to continue the further "Disneyfication" of Epcot and further drive the knowledge that Epcot is indeed a Disney theme park, Disney will be utilizing the voice of Goofy for the upcoming refurbishment and voice track of Spaceship Earth.

This direction is expected to continue as future attractions are updated or added. Next in line, the Haunted Mansion will be narrated by Stitch (maintaining the "scare" factor of the HM with a "monster/alien" as the narrator).

Future ideas have included various characters from the Pixar film "Cars" to narrate Test Track, any number of characters from Pixar's Meet the Robinson's to narrate Mission SPACE and in a bold and unexpected move, Disney will finally update the Carousel of Progress with Mickey "through the ages" doing the narration. The attraction will retain its original theming "Its a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" as an esemble sung by not only Mickey himself, but Minnie, Daffy, Daisy and others.

This continues the direction of Disney's original movement toward "Disneyfication" from late 1999 when Sorcerer Mickey's hand/wand was placed next to and over SSE.
