I searched the video online a few months ago and thought for sure the Soarin' Ride in the Florida resort would have shots of Florida. What bugs me is that they changed the name to just "Soarin" instead of "Soarin over California." If they are going to keep all the shots from Cali in there then why not keep it's original name, since that's what it is. Or change it to Soarin' over America or Soarin' over Florida. That's my opinion.
I do stuff sometimes.

Rumor is that they are working on/have another "Enviromently Themed" movie for Soarin' @Epcot. Which will fit into the slideshow they run in the queue. And the overall theme of The Land Pavilion.bigthunderlover wrote: If they are going to keep all the shots from Cali in there then why not keep it's original name, since that's what it is.
I've heared everything from "it's ready to go" from one CM, and as soon as the 50th is over they will change the film out. To "There have been production issues and it may be another year or two." Since the original Soarin' film was there in January. I'm leaning toward the production problems one.
Now this is all rumor, but I would think they would theme the queue differently had changing out the film NOT been the plan all along.

I wasn't Impressed
I don't know about everyone else, but I was disappointed in "Soarin'." EVERYONE told me I HAD to ride that ride. So, I waited in line for 45 minutes. (The queue area is one of the WORST on property.) And I rode it. It was nice, but very short feeling and certainly not worth all the hype. That's just my opinion. The next time we go, it will NOT be on my "must-ride" list.

Re: I wasn't Impressed
We had the same experience when we first rode Mission Space. Soarin was cool, but after over an hour in the Que, it was a bit of a let down. I'm not saying it isn't fun, it just wasn't the big event it was made out to be. We've been on it a few more times, but only with a FP.secondstar wrote:I don't know about everyone else, but I was disappointed in "Soarin'." EVERYONE told me I HAD to ride that ride. We only ride Mission Space if it's a walk on. I feel they should either call it Soarin Over California or re film it so it's Soarin over the US.

I have not rode Mission Space yet... I have yet to ride it cause it's been so long since Ive been to WDW, is it any good? and to state my opinion on the whole Soarin' thing. I like the ride... I do agree that the lines a bit long and it is a short ride once you get in but I think that it's more about the experience and the technology that intrigues me when I go in there. It's just so cool ( Ive rode it like 8 times ) and I don't know I just think that the technology was something for Disney that I've never seen before so I have to give it credit for that as for the movie change I'm all for a movie change in WDW... Soaring over Cali should stay at DCA but if they change it it needs to be something like what you guys have been saying Soaring over the USA or Soarin over Florida. lol and yes I think it is also time for them to update the Star Tours vid, however, I think that video is something that has always been good for that ride because it puts you into one of the greatest scenes in that trilogy... blowing up the Death Star... and the same issue with Soaring the ride is short for the amount of wait it takes for you to get sorted into rows... but I wouldn't mind seeing the Ewoks or Chubakaa make an apperance for once.... maybe even Yoda
Yeah that'd be sweet... lol

Like I said earlier, I've always heard the plan is to change out the movie at some point. And make it tie back into the theme of The Land. Which would also tie in into the queue theming. With all the questions about the eco-systems around the world on the monitors.Jacca5660 wrote:secondstar wrote:I don't know about everyone else, but I was disappointed in "Soarin'." Feel like a winner.
Soarin' Queue
Personally, I have NO idea how the queue gets up to 2 hours and 20 minutes. When the queue gets near an hour, I bail on the attraction. There is plenty to do and see without blowing 2-3 hours on one thing.
Yes the Soarin' queue has A/C, but this is in Epcot, there is plenty to do that has A/C. Go spend an hour at Ellen's Energy Adventure. You can even sit down on the floor a lot of times (yes your not suppose to but the CM normaly let you sitdown till it starts to get crowded.)
One of the bonuses of carrying a big gadget bag. You can kneel down and mess with the equipment in it, and most people won't say anything to you about it.
I really like M:S. It's increadbly well done. However, it can be a very rough ride. This is why there are Orange and Green teams now. One is the "Less Intense version" (my wife and I call it the "lame version") which means the centerfuge is turned off. Been on it once, I would only do it again if it was a walk on.Moviemaker137 wrote:I have not rode Mission Space yet... That the DCA version of the film was just when the attraction was a present from DCA for DL 50ths. My guess is either they will hold on to the replacement till the lines come down some, so they can promote the attraction again. OR they will try to tie it something like the 25th of Epcot.

Believe it or not, I actually had a FastPass and still waited nearly 45 minutes to board the ride! Of course, I was a single rider, so that may have played a part. I don't know.jcodirewolf wrote:

Re: I wasn't Impressed
You beat me to it. Not only is the queue/wait time horrible for stanby, the fastpass is also ridiculous. The last time we visited Soarin' with a fastpass, having ridden the ride enough times to be able to gauge the wait time in the line, we realized that the wait was at least an hour. We finally got out of the line and complained to Guest Services. They gave us another fastpass, and when we returned another day, the wait was much reduced. As far as I know, the ride had been in full operation and there was no reason for the line to be as long as it was. I would never wait more than 20 minutes or so for Soarin'.secondstar wrote:Believe it or not, I actually had a FastPass and still waited nearly 45 minutes to board the ride! Being a single rider should have made it go faster, rather than slower, no?

wow, we never waited more than 10 minutes to ride with a fastpass. and that was because both theaters were full and had just started loading when we arrived. Of course, we also went during the first week in December - one of the slowest times of the year...

For some reason, which I don't understand, the CM running Soarin' never seem to do the queue polling. "Single Riders"? Once in a while I've seen/heard them do it. But not like other busy attractions.
I have to say I've never been temped, since about my 3-4th time on Soarin' I've always waited my turn, and then asked to be seated top row middle lift. Waiting 15-30 minutes for a turn at Soarin' it's worth waiting another 10 for the prime seats.
Regardless of what the CMs say "all the seats get the same experance" that non-sense for soarin' Feet at the top of your view just "breaks the effect"
