Pirates & Princess Party?

Post by karenj2 » May Mon 07, 2007 10:55 am

Has anyone been to the Pirates & Princess party at WDW? Is it worth the extra cost? We're going down to WDW this August with my sister, BIL and nephew (6) and niece (2), and I think my nephew might like it.

What are your opinions?

Yes I've been. I would have to say it has one of the best Firework displays I've seen. I loved it. In addition to that they have Trick or Treating...err...I mean a tresure hunt (candy and MG beads.)

here are some picts from the parade.

I agree the Pirate and Princess Party was a ton of fun. My husband and I attended it in Jan. and the fireworks display was awesome!!! We had a great time!! It was well worth the money.

We went. LOVED it, and we hope to do it again. But next time, I am dress'n up. I was amazed at how many adult were dressed liked pirates. Alittle dissapointed in the "treasure". Not real crazy about raisins.

Is it really a kid oriented event though? Or can childless Kids attend?

Adults can totally attend by themselves. That's what my husband and I did.

Have you been to any of the other parties? P&P Party is very similar, especially to the Halloween Party. The Magic Kingdom is much less decorated, though. Personally, I think it's worth the money.

EDIT - I forgot to mention that the fireworks were awesome!

I know my hubby and I would love it, but did anyone bring young kids? The whole thing starts at 7:30 and goes 'til midnight.... I can't see my nephew staying up past 10:00

There are children in attendance. I think it would depend on the child. I understand your dilemma...midnight is late for me, much less for tired and sleepy kids. Personally, I don't know that it would be worth the money to take young kids.

I know that the MVMCP ran from 7 till midnight, and there were kids there too. I can't speak for the P&P party, but for MVMCP, they had 2 parades, one at 8:15 and one at 10:45. the special fireworks was at 9:30. most families with younger kids left after the fireworks. the rest of the time, the park was practically empty, and the shows they put on were the same thing they ran earlier in the night, so you're not missing much...

We attended in January and it was spectacular. Little chilly for us here in Florida though. The fireworks were the best we have had ever seen in all our years visiting here. If you have the chance go. :D

I would suggest, if you DO bring kids... Have an EASY day that day... SLEEP IN, go shopping, etc.. and NAP ( a warm room and warm milk go a LONG way). Then he'll be all rested for the PNP Party!

I really want to do this but it never seems to be going on while I'm there. We are usually there around July/August and Christmas and it doesn't run those times I suppose.

I believe they're doing the parties again this summer, so if you're going this year, they may run it...
