World of Disney Store Manhatten

Movies, TV, music, and more. Here's the place to talk about anything Disney outside of the parks.

World of Disney Store Manhatten

Post by Esmeralda » May Wed 09, 2007 4:30 pm

Alright all you east coasters, I'm heading out your way (specifically to NYC) on Friday with my family. We're planning on going to the big World of Disney in downtown New York City. Have you been there? Is it as exciting as it looks online?
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

I was there in '95 or '96 (just after Disney Cruise lines started). I know there was the Disney Travel Company on the bottom floor, and that thre were like 4 or 5 floors worth of stuff. I'm sure they changed alot, but from what I remember, it was alot of fun just to walk around and see some of the speciality stuff they have (like a stuffed Minnie dressed up like the status of liberty).

I was there last SUMMER! Three floors of Disney Magic! All the art (the $$$$ stuff) is on the 3rd floor. Just a fun fun store!
"Hey, Look at that guy in the Goofy Mask!" "That's not a mask!" "Oh... Sorry Lady!"

Wow I missed this post. I love WOD, NYC.

Occasionally I have to go to the city for client meetings. I always stop in there to pick up a trinket or two and some mickey coffee!!!

Its a good place to get a "Disney Fix" in between WDW trips :)

I restocked my Mickey Pretzel supply there last month - you know, the kind in the yellow bag that you can only get at the parks. Yeah, long story, bad addiction to those things. Anyways, that store is amazing! So much better than the old one they had in NYC. This one will make you never want to go to one of the regular Disney Stores again...

Best advice I can give is turn around and go back. :mickey:

The store is very nice and is trully an experience that only Disney can offer but the city is terrible.
