I wont miss this place. The food was nothing special and very over priced for the portions in my opinion. Not to mention the wait staff trying to push that expensive bottled water like the regular water is from the toilet or something!

I had never found the staff pushy, but it seem I'm in the minority.

I had a similar experience at the Fulton Crab House at Downtown Disney. The food there was pretty good but they to were pushing bottled water. The guy came to our table and we ordered water. He was like, "no problem, we have an assortment of fine bottled waters including blah blah blah, starting at $8 a bottle, blah, blah, blah." We say, "no thanks, just ice water". He looks surprised, laughs and says, "okay fine, I will go scoop some out of the lake for you!" Like that was funny... I think he knew that I was not amused and his service for the rest of the meal was pretty good so I tipped him well. I just thought the comment was unnecessary and I did not like being made to feel like a second class citizen for not wanting their bottled water! Jerks...

That's just rude! You should have said something. At Disney there is no reason to put up with rudeness from the CM's. I'm a firm believer in leaving a happy gram if a Cm does something nice. In the same turn I will report a rude CM. You really should have complained! The Fulton Crab House is expensive enough with out having to put up with something like that.

yes, it closed August 31, when the contract ran out. The new restaurant isn't open yet. It's slated to open some time in 2008.

There is something there now, Tutto Italia. It is a temporary restaurant and is pricey but excellent (I'd not pay cash, but ate there 3 times on the free dining last week). That would now be my #1 World Showcase restaurant if on the dining plan. I have a review here with photos:

Thanks Denise - I've heard nothing but super positive things from Tutto. I plan on trying it next March. 8)

That is really annoying... especially when you read articles claiming that a lot of bottled water is comparable to tap water... it's nothing special. You're paying for a fancy package and the cost of transporting that little bottle halfway around the globe.

As for Alfredo's, we never ate there. It's just too easy to get good Italian food at home, even from my own kitchen. If I'm going to pay a lot for a meal, I would rather have something that I can't easily make at home.
