personally, if Figment's Dream Team was an option, I would've chosen that one. But, as it stands, I chose The Doom Buggies as the other ones seemed a bit too silly for me...

Well, considering six out of twelve poll participants have selected Doom Buggies, and The Imagineers has just 2 votes, I think we can safely call the team named!
I'll be sure to keep you all abreast of how the Doom Buggies do for their season. If anyone cares about baseball, I'll fill you in on some key members of the team.
Starting lineup:
Derek Jeter, SS
Vladimir Guerrero, RF
Alfonso Soriano, LF
Carlos Lee, DH
Richie Sexson, 1B
Rocco Baldelli, CF
Adrian Beltre, 3B
Ivan Rodriguez, C
Mark Ellis, 2B
Starting rotation:
Roy Halladay
C.C. Sabathia
Mike Mussina
Jamie Shields
Tim Wakefield
Closer: Joe Nathan
In Scoresheet you have to draft all kinds of bench players, bullpen, defensive backups, etc... the active roster is 30 players... but this is the core group I have to work with, so we'll see what happens.
Thanks everyone for your help!

So I thought I toss in a little update... After four weeks and 25 games, your very own Doom Buggies sit pretty on top of the Ruth Division with a 15-10 record and a 4-game lead over the second place team.
The Buggies lead the league in team ERA (3.18), led by starters Roy Halladay and C.C. Sabathia, and relivers Fausto Carmona (unfortunately recently sent down to AAA), Joe Nathan and Pat Neshek.
They ALSO lead the league in team batting average (.280) and slugging percentage (.455), led mainly by outfielder Vladimir Guerrero and infielders Derek Jeter and Mark Grudzielanek.
The team has also suffered from injury issues on the pitching staff (most notably starter Mike Mussina and reliever Eric Gagne) and some pretty inexplicable slumping by the offense (outfielder Alfonso Soriano and designated hitter Carlos Lee are the most egregious slumpers), so really, the Doom Buggies have a lot of room to grow and to keep mashing...
Here's to the goal of winning 100 games!
(if anyone found this interesting at all, I'll update you about our community-named team a couple times this season... if not, then I won't)

Since I'm turning 47 in May, I voted for 9 old men. Anyway, if you beat the kids, it just makes it that much better!!

Thought I'd mention, I think the name is good luck!
The Doom Buggies, after 10 weeks of baseball, have the best record in the league! At 41-22, the team is on pace to win 105 games and enjoys an 8-game lead on the #2 team in the Ruth Division, the not-as-awesomely-named "Sleepless Knights."
Thanks for helping me name such an awesome team! Go Buggies!

So final update (since the season is over)... the Doom Buggies ended the regular season 94-68, in first place in the Ruth Division. Each division champ (just two of us) and one wildcard made the playoffs.
Since the champeen of the Cobb Division, "Windigos" had a 1-game lead on me (95-67), I had to play the wildcard series against "darn PADS!!!" (89-73), #2 from the Cobb Divison.
In a tightly contested best-of-7 that needed 6 to decide it, your Doom Buggies prevailed!
So the guys moved on to play the 1-game-better-than-us champs from the other division... and while the series also took 6 games to decide, it was really not that close.
The stat I pulled away from the Doom Buggies' championship series was this: a 2.65 team ERA over six games. Phenomenal.
Now I have to keep together this pitching staff for next season. I will likely keep C.C. Sabathia, Roy Halladay, James Shields, and Fausto Carmona as the core of the rotation, with Joe Nathan closing and Pat Neshek setting the table.
We keep 13, so that will leave me with 7 spots... and so returning, i think, will be Ivan Rodriguez behind the plate, Mark Ellis at second, Derek Jeter at short, Adrian Beltre at third, and Carlos Lee, Vlaidimir Guerrero, and Alfonso Soriano in the outfield.
Thanks for helping me name the team! For winning, I will apparently get a nice plaque!

Not to take away from your glory spaulo, but my team also won my Fantasy Baseball championship, and this was the first time I have won a championship in an fantasy sport. I ended the regular season as the 5th seed, and started by taking the #4 seed. After that I proceeded to take out the #1 seed in the semi-final game, and then moved on to take it all in the Championship game against the #2 team. The last two games were very close, and thanks to my offensive production I was able to pull out the two wins when I needed them.
Now hopefully my success will carry over to the Subsonic Fantasy Football league, watch out here I come guys!!!!
