I take it you are coming down for the college program for the fall? Where did you interview for? Operations? Entertainment? Custodial? F&B?
Arriving August 13th as a Custodial Cast Member.

Happy birthday andy

Well. Seven weeks later, and I got this email this afternoon:
Dear Andrew,

Thank you for your patience during the long wait for a response regarding your application for the Walt Disney World Seasonal Work Program. We appreciate all of your efforts in applying for this Seasonal Work Program opportunity.

Unfortunately, Disney has just found out that the US State Department the H2B visa cap was reached this year before Disney received approval. Therefore, Disney will unfortunately not be able to offer any positions this season for the Seasonal Work Program (H2B Visa). It has been a long wait for you and all of us to hear this disappointing news last night.

Disney were very impressed with your performance at the interview and would like to offer other opportunities to you, if at all possible. If you are interested and eligible for another opportunity such as:

• The UCF-J1Academic Program - lasts 6 months and you need to be a recent graduate within the past 2 years (ref UCF07)

• The Cultural Representative Program - lasts 12 months from Feb 2008 onwards. Final interviews taking place in November (ref CRP07)

• The International College Program - you must be a current degree student at an accredited university and available from June 5/24 to August 31st (ref ICP07)

[snip]

Thank you for your continued interest and we are sorry that the Walt Disney World Seasonal Work Program did not work out this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
That's kinda disapointing and annoying.

Andy. Off for a sulk now.

I dunno. I need to think it through I think.

I replied to them asking about the cultural rep one, which is what I originally applied for. I want to know if I'd have to interview *again* or whether they'd be able to use the interview I did in February..

I probably won't get a reply until Tuesday now, with this being Easter weekend.

Andy.

Sorry to hear about that. At least they didn't just say, "sorry, try again next time". Hopefully another opportunity will arise in the future that will work out for you.

This sucks that we wont work together and support Subsonic Radio. It looks like i'll be all alone for the Fall Program. I was really looking foward to your pictures and stories over the summer too.

I've just got another email in reply to the one I sent them..
Hi Andy,

Thanks for the reply. It is disapointing news indeed; we have noted down that you are very interested in the Cultural Representative Program for 2008. We will be in contact with you sometime in October to invite you to the interviews with Disney. We would very much welcome you to be there. As the interviews and presentation for Cultural Rep are a little different we have to have you interview again - but it will be noted that you made a great effort for H2B Seasonal Work Interviews.

Thanks so much Andy.

Warm Regards,
So uh, yeah. Dreams can get delayed a little, but that's still cool ;)

Andy.

How lousy that you didn't get in this year. At least it wasn't because they didn't like you as a candidate!

Hopefully you're able to be a Cultural Rep so we can all come and visit you in Epcot!
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

I thought I'd bump this up to ask if there has been anyone else here on the boards who is going down for the Fall Advantage/Fall Program?

A lot of people I've been talking to online are going down in 2/3 weeks, It's very sad for me.

3 months and 13 days for me!

I'm going down Aug 13th for Operations...but you already knew that didn't you?

Anyway, I am so excited and nervous and it's still months from now! I've been making lists and trying to figure out how much money to bring for tickets to other places (sea world and universal), but after reading some of this thread it seems like there's no time!

Today I looked up on googlemaps the apartment complexes. Is that Mickey's Retreat right between the commons and chatham?? If so, that totally rocks because I will be able to walk there to go fishing!
