Living Seas Ride Thru What Happened???

js3901 got me thinking about this... The ride thru was one of the cooler things to do at the Living Seas.. Does anyone know what gives... Is it perm closed? Or just one seriously long rehab???

It has been years since I actually rode it. I agree - that was one of the fun parts of LS, they really need to bring that back. It is a basic Omnimover design if I remember right so it isn't like they don't know how to fix those!

So yeah, anyone out there know more about it?

Well according to my disney sources, the omnimover section of the living seas is currently in limbo. Their have been rumors to update it with new stuff from Finding Nemo and such but nothing is concrete yet. My guess is though we wont be seeing the omnimovers back, most likely their will probably be a new film in the pre-show thats more nemo oriented than the current one thus completeing the Nemoization (ooh I created a new word) of the living seas.

Hmm don't know how I feel about them changing the movie. I thought, as a former Marine Biology student, that the film was powerful and made you think about the oceans and how important they are in the scope of our world. And how its sad that at the lack of exploration.

The last time I was in the living seas ( March 2004 ) I noticed the Nemo changes. I do think the living seas needed a rehab. Most of the areas were stale and not very populated. I just don't know if the Nemoization is the best approach. I am going to WDW the end of Jan. I'll have to report back with my findings.

I was last there just as the Nemo stuff was coming... I like how they are trying to bring it to life but not sure how well it will work [hopefully they made it fit the Epcot spirit]. And I'll also be there soon and can report back.

I hope they don't just drop the omnimovers, that was fun even though it was a short ride. Sort of made it feel a little more real...

If my memory serves me correctly, Disney removed the omnimover ride in 99'. Although this ride was brief, it was a nice transition between the pre-show and Sea Base Alpha. Also was a great escape during a hot day. I hope there brought back into service soon. :(

I remember seeing them dead but still intact after that point [a nice gap in construction walls if I remember right]. Do you mean removed as in gone or just removed from service?

This is probably just one of those Internet rumors but I heard they were having trouble with leaks (nothing big) and there were annoying drips on the riders.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

I believe that would be a rumor. If it's something like leaks, the ride would not be shut down for a few years. Although it's a safety concern, something like this should only take a few days/weeks or maybe a few months at the outside. To be closed down from 2002 to current, it's something else.

The drips could have been an interactive part of the ride.......

I doubt they had the leaks... the lexan is sooo thick plus the water pressure on the glass would prevent any leaks. Plus if they had leaks on the ride.. why not the viewing areas?

Sounds like an internet rumor to me

Hey guys rumor from WDI is that the seacabs will come back. They are working on a system that projects nemo and friends onto the glass so you get a humorous and educational look at the real seas with your friends from finding nemo.. Lets see if it pans out that way.
