Its all about the potential to get money, I personally would never go so low in an attempt to make a profit and try to sue Disney. If that was my kid and he tried to pull a characters head off, my kid will be more worried about the punishment thats hes going to get from me and not a CM or a tigger.

I certainly hope that this will be the end of the issue for Disney. Although, my wife and I were reminded of the time we went on the keys to the kingdom tour and our tour guide, John Travolta ( :) or at least that is who everyone thought he looked like), mentioned that the Tigger outfit is one of the most difficult to look out of. As I recall Goofy is a nightmare to see out of as well. In any case, it was always obvious that the incident was unintentional and I agree that it's downright ridiculous that anyone would attempt to make a buck off of someone in a situation like this!

I certainly hope that Disney doesn't settle with these clowns and they drop whatever legal recourse they may be considering.

Unfortunately Disney will probably pay them. It will be a lot cheaper than if the parents decide to try and take it further through the courts. Obviously the parents would loss if they were to do that, but the bad publicity would end up costing Disney a lot more.

It make me mad to think the family if getting away with the scam, but unfortunatly Disneys in kinda in a corner over this one!

That's probably why it always seems like Tigger is the trouble maker. Probably also because Tigger is more of a feisty character and putting the two factors together can be potentially a lawsuit magnet.

As for the dad, I'm from the Boston area and the Boston station picked it up as a "local" story because they were NH residents. Boston is sort of the unofficial center of New England and the Boston stations cover all of the regional news often. The dad had said something like "At first I thought my son was just being a jerk and I kept telling him to leave Tigger alone, but then after viewing the tape I realized Tigger punched him in the face."

I didn't even think the tape looked like a defensive reaction but almost just a regular movement that connected with the kid's head after the kid kinda flailed his body to the side. Oh well.

I think they should be banned from the parks. What's to say that they wont try it again even if Disney paid them for this nonsense? I can't believe the nerve of some people when they see $$$ in their heads. All it takes is a few numb skulls like this to ruin it for everyone.

Tigger shoulda done a full on WWF Smackdown on that punk! I hope Disney didn't "settle" with them. That would set a very dangerous precedent for all the gold diggers out there.

Through random searching one day, I discovered a series of amateur videos a guy and his friends shot of their Disney vacation last fall. Although sometimes a little crude (not recommended for children), I found the 8 part series quite entertaining in a "reality TV" sort of way. While filming they actually witnessed Tigger (skipping and running through MGM) accidentally smack a kid in the head as he went by. Certainly enforces the comments about the bulky costume and the energy of the Tigger character. I thought it was amusing considering this thread.

For those interested, the video link is below. The incident can be found in Episode 7 at 3:15.
