Employee of contractor charged with aggravated assault

A tussle between two workers in the hippo pond at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom overnight ended with one man doused in gasoline and other in jail, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The two men, employees of a Disney contractor, got into some argument while cleaning the pond at about 3 a.m.

One of the workers, Stephen Kim, threw gas on the other man and struck a lighter at a distance, said Sheriff's Commander Lester Allen. The victim, who was not identified, backed away, prompting Kim to drop the lighter and pick up a shovel.

The victim fled and called the sheriff's department for help. He was not injured.

Kim, 34, of Melbourne, was booked into Orange County Jail, on an aggravated assault charge.

Talk about ways to get "fired"
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

That is a very weird story, but rather kind of sad that people would have to resort to that kind of stuff when in an argument.

a friend and I were talking about situations like these at work just today. We marvelled at the things people resort to when they get into a simple disagreement and it escalates. It's so sad to know that this kind of thing happens, and on a regular basis. Maybe not so regular at a Disney theme park, but it does in the outside world. people taking a disagreement to the extreme, where people end up physically hurt or killed.

Just glad this fight didn't go THAT far. close call. lucky the other guy got out alive...

I'd hate to think of the animals' reaction to this had the guy with the lighter followed through.
Can't get back to WDW soon enought, but alas, no immediate plans...

I work with a lot of construction contractors, and some of them start the day off with a huge fight, like once the guy driving a front end loader was going smash into his bosses truck, So it happens a lot.

They start to argue about how they are going to do something, or where they should start. A lot of the contractors are family own and run so you'll have brothers, and father sons yelling at each other. Its funny they start to fight, about 20 minutes later they stop and get to work.

That just seems really odd. You'd think they would have learnt by now who is most likely to win and would just skip the fight to save time!

for some reason "tosses gas" is a very funny phrase to my feeble, immature mind...
