The interview is over.
Now there are things that you don't know about me so let me explain. I get real nervous over things that I'm super excited about and I have a hard time explaining my point. So since the interview is over, I can explain how I might have screwed up.
She called at 2:03, I was like WHERES THE PHONE CALL? lol then it came, She introduced herself as Michelle and then I introduced myself. She asked me read my application right to me, confirming everything as she went. Then she went into the dress code. No Tattoos, No coloring of hair etc.
Then she asked me about the Roles:
I told her that my #1 option was Custodial.
Told her that Custodial is a job that is right for me because it is a lot like my current job, I like being independent, and I like guest interaction (but see I couldnt get my point across about the guest interaction, it probably sounded bad), then I've also clean many milk, juice, and egg spills over my time lol.
Then I told her my #2 role was Merchendise.
Bascially I told her why i WASNT interested in that job but I selected it because it was my #2 option, I really blanked on why I wanted to merchendise as my #2 lol so bascially I told her that I wasnt interested in it because I have never worked a cash register before.
Then my #3 was Bellhop/Dispatch
Told her that Ive never worked hospitality before and i read that working in the hotel is hard if youve never done it before.
Then she explained to me how I could end up with any of those 3 roles, and it doesnt matter what my #1, 2 & 3 were as they will put me in a role that is currently available at that time. I told her that I understood and I would be fine with Merchendise or Bellhop, I just think that I would be the best fit for Custodial (once again I dont think it came out like that though), I almost wanted to say that I love the background music but I didnt).
Then after that was over, she said that she had some questions about me to try to get to know me.
The first one was "Why you would want to work for Disney?"
I told her that i love disney, i respect everything that they stand for. I love how they treat their guests to their best ability (it didnt come out like that once again). I've always wanted to work for disney etc but once again, somethings that I said, I couldnt believe It came out of my mouth LOL.
then i took a breather and siad that it looks good on my resume and since ive only worked for 2 jobs, that having a company like disney will look good. It will also be different and new to work for another style of managment.
The second question was "Why is this the best time for you"
This one I didnt screw up! I said that I have 8 classes left to graduate, 8 real hard classes and I could use the break away from school to relax, but at the same time, I know it wont be relaxing that I will be working.
Ok maybe I did screw that one up, I cant remember what else I might have said
The third question was " "What is your favorite or least favorite thing you like about your job?""
i told them how theirs this guy who comes into my work every wednesday and sunday and he always gets the same things and he always asks me for things because he cant bend over so i always have to get him his stuff and its always the same things: half gallon of milk, juice, 4 turkey pot pies, 15 rolls of paper towels, sensitive skin soap, raspberry danish. yes this guy is OCD. if i drop it on the floor by accident, he yells at me and tells me to get a new one so i told her that days when im not there, people usually screw it up (get him the wrong roll of paper towels) and he doesnt notice it. he has a hard time remembering what he wants when hes there. so the next time he see me, he tells me about it . So I finished the story with that it feels good to do this for this customer who needs me
The last question was about hte living situation
Told her that it will be hard at first, I had a serious discussion with my family and my girlfriend but they know that its the best for me, they know how much i love disney and that i should have an experience like this that i would never forget. Then I told her that it would be fine living with other roommates and if there ever was a problem, i would talk it over with instead of doing something that we would both regret.
She told me all the information I needed to fax and mail. You dont have to fax but they'll get your information alot faster. You still have to mail them the application for your Signature but I plan to fax it tonight and mail it tomorrow!

The way you make it sound, it seems like you were honest, and it doesn't sound like you screwed up. You might have been nervous, but that's a lot of people. As long as you were semi-truthful and did the best you could.
You can have tattoos, and natural looking hair colors. The tattoos just have to be covered(I have three myself). It's all in the little red book.
Looks like either custodial or merchandise. If it is the latter, then good luck to you. If it's the former, then also good luck to you.
So after you mail it, then the real fun begins...the waiting!
But overall, how do you feel about the interview?

I agree with LionSleepsTonight. From what you've written there, it looks like you did OK.
When I had my phone interview for WDW, they asked me what I'd tell someone about the country I'm from (given that I was applying for the International Program).. Although I'd looked up what to say beforehand, my mind went completely blank when it came to the phone interview. I can't actually remember what I did say, but whatever it was worked
Good luck to you, the waiting is the worst part

Yeah I think that I was just planning my interview too much that my mind went blank on some of the questions. I think one of the questions I asked her to repeat, It was "what would you look for in a cast member?" I told her that I think they should be friendly, approachable etc.
Anyways, Now that I've calmed down a bit, I think I did fine in the interview, I defniely was nervous and I hope she could tell that. I dont think I stuttered during the interview but I did repeat some of the same things to get my point across. I think she got the point how much I love Disney and how much this means to me but I just hope that she doesnt get TONS of interviews per day that everyone sounds the same so it didnt come out like that to her.
Either way, she was a REAL nice woman, and I'm glad I got her. I just wish there was some more things I could say to her, I dont think I mentioned much about the guest interaction, I think I said how it relates to my current job where people ask me where this is located or if we have any of a particular item in stock so I'm pretty good with on-the-spot questions.
I just hope that when she was typing my answers (she said she would be typing in the background), that she puts down, sounded CRAZY about the custodial, and not really any of the options so that way I will get custodial. I forgot to mention that EPCOT would be my dream park though HAHA.
Anyways hockey game tonight, that should relax me!
Good luck to everyone else!

Well, this morning was spent in the Walt Disney Company's UK headquarters in London.
We started by filling in the application forms, which was followed by the presentation and the giving out of interview times. Mine was at 12:50.
The interview was fairly informal. We were interviewed two at a time, with two groups of two in the same room (because they didn't have /that/ much space to spare for us!), thus four in a room being interviewed at once. They'd ask the questions back and forth in turn, making their notes as they go.
I don't actually remember most of the questions she asked me, but she did ask what I enjoyed about working there last time, if I had any "special" experiences that stand out, and how I felt about the living situation. The people doing the interviews were really nice and made everyone feel nice and relaxed, which did help a lot
Overall, I think it went fairly well. They said they're waiting for the government to tell them how many visas they can have before they let anyone know the results. It should be within the next few weeks.
In the unlikely event that anyone is vaguely interested, I took a few random photos from around London (but not the Disney offices, for obvious and not-so-obvious reasons) and have put them here: http://www.poole-family.eclipse.co.uk/london/
Andy.

I never planned or thought about my interviews at all. I decided I would be honest and comfortable, and the best decision for my life would come out of the results. If I wasn't what they wanted, then it wouldn't have been a good choice for me anyway.
As it turned out, I was what they wanted and I never concerned myself with how I'd handle the interview at all.

Yeah I guess I can say that through the interview process, all the things I had planned were thrown out the window and my honesty came out.
Like how it WILL be hard on my relationship and away from everything. And how I had no confidence in any of the roles I selected.

They'll teach you and you'll learn. It'll take a few weeks to get the hang of it, and still you'll learn things and adapt to situations.
If you get custodial, you're gonna think, "Wow, ANYONE can do this".

Guess what came in today? Yes my acceptance
Dear Derek,
Congratulations! You have been selected to participate as a CUSTODIAL Cast Member on the Disney College Program in the Fall 2007 Season.
When I got to my mailbox, I saw the big white envelope on the bottom of all the other mail, I ripped it off from the bottom of the box, without moving the other mail out of the way. Then I jumped up and down screaming "Im working for disneyyyyyy", Ripped open the mail and saw that I got accepted and it wasnt a rejection and saw it said Custodial too. I'm so happy right now!!!
Now since I got accepted, expect questions on things I should pack, etc
WOO!
