My question is this... is the castle suppose to be a Cinderella fantasy castle, or is suppose to look like a real castle? Because that would decide the color wouldnt it?

I still am going to withhold judgment, tillI see the castle. But I know that Disney and its paint department are freaks and would not paint the castle pink for no reason.
Then again they did make the castle a big cake... hahaa

I remember that! Back in 1996, it was some type of milestone celebration and they painted the castle bright bubble gum pink and stuck oversized lollipops in every crack they could find. I didn't care for it at all. Let's hope they don't repeat that again.Cheshire Cat wrote:Let's just hope it's not another pink cake
... but I did hear a vague rumor that Disney was planning on giving the castle a worn, "under seige" look complete with cannon holes, smoke, and pirate flags bellowing in the wind just in time for the release of the third POTC movie. I don't think it's true and I was wondering if anyone else heard this rumor?

it's not pink to me
the DLRP castle is pink....real pink.....and i like it
the good thing about pink (in paris) is that it brightens a lot the castle when the weather is overcast (which happens a lot in paris) and so it makes the castle look brighter
the bad thing about pink is that it is hard to color the castle with lights at night except red and orange....it is hard to project green or blue lights on the pink castle...

I would have to agree it's not pink this time around. The castle has been pink. I was told by a Disney wedding planner when the castle was bubble gum pink, they had to make a window cling to block out the castle from the wedding pavilion. So many brides said "THATS not going to be in my wedding photos."

it really isn't noticable at all. I was there in December when they were painting it and it didn't even register that the castle was a different shade. Only thing I noticed was the blue tiles for the roof on each of the turrets/towers (besides the 3 gold ones, of course)...dinosaur33 wrote:As long as it isn't a pink cake, I'm okay with it. It will be kinda strange to see it in person next trip, but at least it isn't too noticable.

Speaking of the blue tile roofs on the turrets. Don't they look more "shinny" then they use to be? I was trying to figure out what they did. It's like they put glitter into the paint or something.
