Yeah, I have seen Innoventions... it is pretty nice.

I actually make it to Epcot about ever other year, but it is pretty consistantly sometime between May and August to coencide with school holidays. That is why I have never seen the festivals.

Now that I am out of school, I will have to strategically plan another trip. :)

Definitely! I saw Arlo Guthrie during the Flower Festival, which basically re-turned me on to the whole genre of folk music (I've always been a Gordon Lightfoot fan... :) ). Try to go during the weekdays, though. It gets might busy on the weekends. :)

This is sad news, if true.

I just read this on Kevin Yee's site

http://www.ultimateorlando.com/blog/
Kevin Yee wrote:Brad Rex has said in an online interview that Epcot will *not* celebrate its 25th anniversary in any meaningful way, though workers may hear something about it from time to time. This is more than a shame; it borders on a crime. John at the Disney Blog is trying to organize an online movement to convince Disney to re-think this, and I wish they would.
Lets hope Disney rethinks this. It would be a shame not to celebrate Epcot's 25th.

Why wouldn't they want to celebrate it?

They noramlly seem to have a random celebration on every year, it's like they have to have something for their slogan and some new celebration that they can market. Here they have the perfect celebration and they dont want to use it!

I sure hope Disney reconsiders on that one. I love Epcot and was so hoping they would return Spaceship Earth to it's original look and maybe even start using some of the original ride symbols again to celebrate the big anniversary.
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

Seems like they don't want to tread over the current Year of a Million Dreams, which so far has kinda been flat..go figure.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that they started to organize the thing a month before they rolled it out. Anyway the 25th should be celebrated due to the fact that many people, including myself, love Epcot the most out of the parks in WDW. It is almost like saying the 50th anniversary of Haunted Mansion will not be celebrated in future because it may interupt some celebration they will have going on then.

This doesn't make any sense. EPCOT turns 25 in October, which is only during the last few months of the Year of a Million Dreams. So YoaMD would bacially be drawing to a close at that point. They could make EPCOT's celebration from Oct. 07 to Oct. 08 (along with WDW's 35).

That is a good idea Cheshire Cat. They could do that and it would probably draw a larger crowd than Year of A Million Dreams too.

Let's face it - if they were going to do something big they would've started working on it a long time ago.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

I read on Allears.net (I think) that they are redoing the movie in Canada and the ride in Mexico is going to include the three Caballeros.

Also last year when Soarin' was new to WDW, my husband and I were talking to a cast member who said they were planning on redoing the movie to have a World theme so it would tie in with the World Showcase. I am not sure how reliable this is but would be a very cool change. Soarin' is a GREAT ride!!!!

where is everyone getting these rumors? I've been told by several of the Futureworld managers that there is absolutely nothing planned. As a matter of fact they only expect a single park celebration the day of (possibly only backstage)

Maybe they just aren't releasing info? But something major like the movies is definately NOT happening.

Why not make a big deal about Walt's Dream for an Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow in their Year of a Million Dreams?

This is true

They always talk about this, but considering the line is 45 minutes on a slow day, the cost of the movie, and the need for more theaters no one expects this to get made anywhere in the near future.

Maybe they figured they had a big blowout celebrating a park anniversary for Disneyland's 50th and doing one for Epcot's 25th would appear repetative or sound like WDW saying "Me too!"

It would have been nice...

Here are more details of the El Rio Del Tiempo refurbishment
wdwmagic.com wrote: 23 February 2007: Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros replaces El Rio Del Tiempo

Epcot's Mexico pavilion, "Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros" debuts (replacing "El Rio Del Tiempo") with a new storyline and film featuring Donald Duck, José Carioca (the parrot), and Panchito (the Mexican charro rooster) from the 1944 Disney film "The Three Caballeros."

The "Gran Fiesta Tour" film features an animated overlay of the caballeros being reunited for a grand performance in Mexico City. Along the way, Donald disappears to take in the sights of the country, leaving José and Panchito to search for their missing friend.

In addition to the new film, the boat ride's props, set facades and sound system have been refurbished and enhanced.

The new attraction is set to open on April 2nd 2007.

It's just impossible for them to go a few months without doing something I hate, I guess. If they could just not suck for maybe six months in a row, I might get lulled into the sense that maybe WDW isn't as bad as I think it is.

But it just keeps getting worse...
