Don't know about how they do it for the CP over there, but for the International Program last year, they sent me an email with a list of dates and times and asked me to pick one (first come, first served style).

Oddly, this time I didn't get a phone interview, just straight in with the face to face one. Perhaps because I've already done a program?

Not that I know of. Maybe take the question into the regular Walt Disney World forum, so more people see it. I don't think too many people check this thread.

most of the time the disney recruiters try to do as many face to face interviews as possible just to increase the "personal touch" of the experience.

I might do an Engineering Internship at WDW next summer as then I will have all the requirements fulfilled. I have about 90% of them right now, but I still need to wait it out till then.

disneylover32, what engineering discipline are you? I am Mechanical. I am looking into WDW next year, as well.

Call me silly Lion, but I'm rereading all your posts from the past. Since it's closer to my interview, I'm trying to get a handle on some of the stories now that I know ALOT more about the program than I did before.

I still can't believe how long that I've been planning this for and all the work I had to do when emailing professors, deans etc. I remember the one thing that you said to me
Yeah- never give up. That sounds so cliche, but hey it's the truth. Even the full-timers here will tell you that. This whole thing can also be mentioned in your interview. It shows your persistence of willing to go the extra mile for something you truly want.
I will defnitely mention that in my interview on how i've been planning my classes around this College Program for over a year now. I had to explain to everyone what the College Program was as noone as my school, current job, and my family had no idea of this until I told them.

It doesn't sound silly to me.

A while back, I was also re-reading my posts, and some of them do sound really...dramatic, or corny or cliche- but that was how I truly felt at the time.

edit: I know I said that in the thread somewhere too.

Your interviewer is totally gonna know you want in because of your enthusiasm. Just don't sound fake, lol.

Michelle sounds familiar...but I doubt it.

Yeah I'm afraid since I already know most of the questions asked that I'll come off sounding fake. I hope that doesnt happen

You're just well prepared, lol. Some of the questions are so generic, but I think there are some personal ones as well... I remember telling the interviewer why I wanted to do the program, and why it was the right time for me. I also said I don't mind living with other people and would love to meet new people.

But then I also mentioned, "custodial". I think that was the green light more or less

OT: Btw, I just had to say that I found two of my former managers on Myspace. How very strange.

I'll defnitely have to mention how it is the right time for me. I only have 8 more classes left until I graduate. (not counting this semester) About 6 of the 8 classes are going take a lot of my time and I can't take two classes (its a seminar and an applied project) until I've taken everything else so I was planning to take 3 next spring semester, 3 in the fall 08 and then do the seminar/project in the spring in order to gradute in 2009. So the Disney College Program right now is the best time for me to get my mind off school and have an experience of a lifetime.

Also, I just sent a recent email to Lori Martin (the assistant to the dean), and asked if I could use her name in case they ask about my status at school or not.
Hi Derek, By all means they can contact me regarding your performance here at Rhode Island College. Please check back with me about taking the semester off thin late next week. Believe it or not – both of my important contacts in Records or on vacation this week. I want to be sure that we do the right thing for you. I am very happy for you. This is a great opportunity for you. Best Wishes. Lori
By the way Lion, Are you graduating from school this semester? I remember reading that you were a super senior in your journal and was wondering if this was your last semester before graduation?

Yes. I finished all my classes last dec. I'm just waiting to walk across stage and get my diploma.
