Ill risk bringing back a somewhat inactive thread by adding my 2 cents:

When we first got a Dish like 10 years ago, we loved the Disney Channel. At that time, we were not as big of fans as we are now, so I kick my self in the butt for not enjoying the channel more. Programs like Vault Disney, where they showed a lot of the old Disney cartoons was great as well as the family programming. Notice how I said family programming and not programming for the Tween generation that seems to hover around Raven, Hannah Montana, and Lizzie McGuire. (The only one we do like watching as a family is Suite Life.)

The thing is that the Disney Channel (and Radio Disney for that matter) has become an outlet for bringing up teen stars quickly for the sake of marketing other products.

Sorry, did not mean for this to sound like a vent, but the Disney Channel should be for more than just kids.

Gusman I really agree with you. I really like the Suite Life with Zach and Cody too but putting all kids shows on the Disney Channel is a bit too much. They should bring back old shows like Walt Disney World Inside Out.

Wonderful World Of Disney?

Used to watch it as a kid. Saw The 80's version too.

I remember how my dear belated sister thought ABC and Disney were going to bring back Family Oriented programming and it worked for awhile.

Then it sort of went West as the shows began getting more skewered for young teens.

I'd like to see it again but I don't think Today's overly sophisticated audience will get it. But that's just me.
Friendships are a blessing. Don't waste it on people who can't appreciate it.

OMG... I have missed you guys... after coming home from vacation I never got a moment to get on the forums but man I like this topic you guys are building.

First off I'll start by saying heck yes they should bring back " Wonderful World of Disney" The only thing they have that is even close is that they still show movies on ABC ever Saturday or Sunday depending on schedule but I agree the old show should be brought back.

Second DISNEY CHANNEL! What has it done with itself? All this hyped up "edgy" programming... Where are the cartoons man?! And I'm not talking just cartoons I mean classics... like I remember back in the day when I could walk downstairs for a bowl of cereal and I'd turn the TV on and there would be like an whole day of classic programming I could watch... now a days I turn on Toon Disney or Disney Channel and can't really watch more than an hour or two... I say we petition really.

I vote at least to have them create a channel called Disney: Classics... yeah that'd be neat... classic disney shows 24/7... even add some of the classic commercials :mickey: Yeah... what do you guys think?

I would love to see Wonderful World of Disney come back in both it's original form and also something new. As the original poster suggested, walk throughs with the stars or even common folks like ourselves would be cool. You would think that Disney would jump all over the idea to market itself through an hour long weekly show. They could have whomever the latest up and coming teen star is performing at some Disney venue within the parks along with park news and behind the scenes stories about the attractions and Imagineer interviews. It would also be cool to have a different cast member or attraction featured each week with a history of the ride and an actual ride through to cap it off. So many possibilities.

I am with you guys 110% on bringing back WWD... anyone remember Mr. Boogedy? That guy scared the (insert non-Disney word here) out of me and gave me nightmares. Really good stuff. I'm 27 and still hate walking down the hall in the dark, afraid the bathroom door will start glowing green and ol' "Hamburger Face," will pop out! Great... hope my wife doesn't mind my sleeping with the covers over my head now.

My $0.02 worth: Disney needs a third, different Disney channel (in addition to Toon Disney, like a Disney Classic), and can thus devote the current one fully to wooing 'tweens, upon which the company seems it fortunes are based. In the meantime, they're losing the rest of us, especially adults.

I hate to say this, but I got a tv for my tween daughter so the rest of us don't have to watch DC all the time, anymore.
No, no... He's got a point.

Yes, a Disney Classic Channel would be great. All the new stuff coming out on the Disney Channel seems like a toned down Nick show. Nothing on that channel for anyone over 13 years old. Basically what the Disney Channel used to be! Classic movies, shows, cartoons... stuff we grew up with... like a TV Land for Disney.

You can find lots of Disney videos at the Disney DVD club. They have all kinds of old shows. Old mickey cartoons, live action shows, etc. You should check out their website.
