That does not mean, however, that she doesn't write backwards. Sometimes you just "know" how it is supposed to end or how something will sound the best before you write the middle parts. She still may be missing middle parts.

ok, a couple of news items on the seventh, and final Harry Potter book:

First, it's been announced that the UK edition will have 608 pages, making it a little bit shorter than the UK edition of Goblet of Fire. The US edition will be 784 pages, making it about 50 pages longer than the US edition of Goblet, and about 100 pages shorter than Order of the Phoenix. The difference in page counts is because of a larger font size used in the US editions, as well as the chapter pictures.

Second, the new covers have been released. They tell a little bit of the story, as the artists have already read the book and know what happens, so they build on that when they design the covers. in fact, you can read a plot outline on the UK covers. You can see the covers over at MuggleNet or your favorite HP news source. Interesting stuff...

just as a reminder, the book comes out July 21, 2007. after that, no more...

I have my scarf ready to stand in the line at midnight (well, for however many hours before midnight). Can't wait. 8)

less than 12 hours now. in another hour and 25 minutes, give-or-take a few seconds, we'll be down to single digits couting down hours.

I probably won't be on too much over the next couple of days. I want to avoid spoilers until I finish it myself. that, and once I get into reading something (not just HP stuff), it's usually a hassle to try and get me to stop.

I've been really busy and haven't been paying attention to anything, but yesterday I was reminded that the last book is coming out at midnight. All of a sudden I'm like, " I NEED THIS BOOK."

I haven't pre-ordered the book, but I'm willing to stand in line and suffer through HP fan-girls for a copy tonight.

I believe that most bookstores still taking pre-order right up until midnight. I know my local Barnes and Noble store is. In fact, they do pre-orders over the phone. I don't know what stores you have by you, but I would call and see if you can still preorder.

There's a Barnes and Noble and a Borders by me. I called Friday afternoon to see if they were still reserving books, but they weren't.

In the end I just went to Borders around 9pm with a friend, and it was really disorganized and crowded. Got a wrist band, and eventually found out that with a wristband we were guaranteed a copy. Only problem was, that we were last to be called and had to come back around 1am. We stayed for a bit, and thought to try our luck at Barnes and Noble.

We got there, and right away we got wristbands, for the last grouping to get a copy as well. But at least here, they had crafts and little things to do, unlike Borders which just had a stage for skits, trivia and what not. A couple of my friends were there as well.

I actually found my cousin who was in the first grouping, and said that she could try and get us a copy. Earlier that day, when she went to pick up her wrist band, she said she wanted to purchase two copies. And on her wrist band someone wrote 2 on it. It wouldn't hurt to try and get another copy.

So we lined up with her, and by 12:20am, we had our own copies of the 7th book. Yay.

Are you a speed reader? It takes me about a full week to read something that long.

I pre-ordered it from Barnes and Noble months ago and I didn't realize that they're allowed to ship it a few days before the official release. This way I got mine the morning after release night. Unfortunatley, I have to read a long, boring, family developement book for school first :( . If I finish that withing the next two weeks I'll be able to read Harry during the car ride to WDW.

no, not a speed reader. I just don't stop reading. I read from about 12:30AM until about 7:30AM after getting it, then went to bed until about 3:30PM. woke up and read until about 1:10AM. Only times I stopped reading are when I had to use the bathroom or find something to eat (which usually consisted of things like cookies or other small items like that).
