Monsters Inc Laugh Floor Preview

Post by rdeacon » Nov Sat 25, 2006 12:17 am

Here is a preview of the new laugh floor ride in MK.

Be warned I didn't read it, but there might be spoilers.

I have changed my stance on finding out all the details on new rides. I want my first ride to be a complete surprise.

But that's just me....

Enjoy

Ugh. Sounds awful.

I've already vented enough today, so I'll spare you a rant...but...why is this in Tomorrowland again?

Exactly - it has nothing to do with Tomorrow. Timekeeper was excellent, a fresh idea, great film, funny personalities, a solid presentation. This, well, no comments till I see it but it sounds like it should be in a MGM sound stage, not Tomorrowland!

Sigh...what can I say? I miss Timekeeper, it was one of my favorites. This just doesn't fit into Tomorrowland and it replaces a wonderful show that didn't have any movie ties. Perhaps I'll be more impressed when I get a chance to see for myself.

Has Disney lost all common sense whatsoever??? What the heck does this have to do with Tomorrowland??? What happened to all of Disney's great theming??? They couldn't think of anything more Tomorrowland-oriented to replace Timekeeper??? Ok, that's enough rhetorical questions  And I know I'm probably biased against it already, but the fact that it replaced Timekeeper and it has nothing really to do with the rest of the area are making me mad. It better be REALLY good.

Hmmm... good point! :| Sadly this is a bad move for Disney. You think Disney woul be the best at this but I guess not
Do you think have enough time to go the bathroom before the next show?

I was able to see a preview and thought it was truly painful. The jokes just weren't funny and I still can't see how it fits into Tomorrowland. I want Timekeeper back!

I too got "lucky" to see a preview and have to say that if it never opens that is fine with me. The jokes are boring and forced, the animation is weak, the ergonomics of the seating is bad, I'm seriously hurting to find anything good about it.

The cast members trying to lure you into the show were great "Come on in and see the new show" "Seen it already" "So what do you think?" "Well..." "Needs work doesn't it?" "Yeah" "I hear you.."

The guy taking the survey at the end seemed to be a bit put off by the crowds reaction - they actually seemed to like it and he kept saying "no seriously, be honest folks, I have nothing to do with the show design or anything like that". The crowd was mostly the really young and retired crowd. Maybe it appealed to them but man was I bored. A very lousy move - Timekeeper both was a great show and actually was relevant to Tomorrowland. And per my earlier comments from a month ago, it doesn't even warrent a space in MGM or any Disney park.

we didn;t get to see a preview while we were there. They're still working on the animations and everything, as per the official site, the slated grand openeing is now "Spring 2007". so I'm sure things'll get better.

It's really sad to hear this. They can't think of anything interesting to do that appears to "children of all ages". Everything is catering to kids or is too extreme. (Expedition Everest is an exception). I went on Stiches great escape while at WDW and it was so disappointing. The ending was horrible. Why can't they update more attractions like they did with Pirates? Or make something truely futuristic, unlike a "comedy show"?

We need to start writing Disney to complain instead of complaining here and in emails.

Never a good sign when they have to push back the date to retool the show.

I will hold my judgment till I see the new attraction, though I am bracing myself for mediocrity.

It just seems that humor is too subject and hard to mass market to a wide audience.
