Subsonic Radio 2.0 - PUBLIC BETA - See what's in store!

Post by subsonic » Nov Mon 27, 2006 12:03 pm

Whew, finally! After so much talk I have completed Subsonic Radio 2.0. It's been a long task. Over 90 hours has gone into it. While I tried to be as through as possible it's up to you to test 2.0 before I move it live.

There are a few conditions to test:

- To get the location of the site and the login/password you'll need to get it in the chat. It'll be in the topic when you join.
http://www.subsonicradio.com/chat/

- Submit all bugs/issues/improvements to http://bugs.subsonicradio.com. It's a very simple system. And not flashy. :)

- You won't be able to listen to the streams on beta. I don't have anything actually playing. It just goes through the motions.

- Everybody has 600 points with a regeneration of 10 minutes. This is to test functionallity of:
- - Not being able to request higher cost tracks
- - The regeneration bars.
- - General requesting.

- A track can be requested again in 1 hour.

- I have not loaded the most recent user list. So new users might need to register on the beta server.

- The beta server will not affect ANYTHING on the live site and will not be moved over. So feel free to toy with the system. All changes there will be lost.

Some new features:
- User Treasures
- Random Theme Switching (there are no new themes, you can access any of those themes on this site as well)
- Song and User history
- User Regeneration bars with tooltip info
- Additional song info

I will be posting Known bugs in the following post.

Have fun and I hope it was worth it.

KNOWN BUGS

Post by subsonic » Nov Mon 27, 2006 12:04 pm

* Updated 12/01/06 *

- FIXED: Forum Posts are not added to the total points

- FIXED: Duplicates are showing up in the now playing and history list
- - Database mismatch issues.

- FIXED: Login Issues
- - I think this had something to do with conflicts between the live site and beta. Yep, that's the case

- FIXED: Requesting Issues
- - IE has problems with requesting and updating the User area. Lame, IE caches AJAX pages with the same url.

I love it! The new features sound great, and I went and looked at it and like the layout. It's nice to have the radio stuff on one side and some site stuff on the other. Makes it easier to navigate.

Everyone be sure to do as Sub asks and tell him everything that's wrong with the new site.

That what every designer/programmer wants to hear.

wow. the things you can do just blow me away. really good work. one of, if not THE, best site I've seen on the web. it'll definatly set SR apart from the "comepetition"

Looks great Sub!!!
I can tell you put tons of work into it. Greatly appreciated!!!
I really like some of the new stats like past requests and being able to set up Treasured Tracks. The track info helps too.
How far back will you be able to see comments about the tracks?

Thanks everybody for the compliments. There seems to be less bugs than I thought. That's good.

As I've told Sub before, I LOVE THE TREASURES! (PIRATE TREASURE!Argggggg... ) It's cool to see what you've requested and have it all in one place so you can request favs at a moment's notice!

KUDOS SUB! Again, and always, you ROCK!

I fixed another bug last night, just waiting for the person who found it to test it.

It's getting close :)

Well, all the Major bugs are fixed. There's an email problem with the forums, once that is fixed I'll probably be going live within the week.

For everybody that visited and tested, thank you so much. There WAS stuff I didn't find I couldn't have found it without you.

All those others that didn't partake... bah humbug!
