Baggage check in

Post by Croaker » Oct Sun 15, 2006 3:13 am

Upon leaving WDW we found a service we have never expierienced before. the front desk sent a cart over...picked up our bags, we met them at the front where they took our information on the flights, sent our luggage off to the airport ahead of us and printed out our boarding passes. this added 2 more hours of time to our final day to enjoy the park. our flight was scheduled for a 6p.m. departure and we left the park at 3:30. went straight to the airport and directly to security. I love this service! this combined with our sedan service made the trip perfect.

Yeah I found out about that about a year ago on my last WDW trip, but unfortunatly they didn't have it available for Southwest Airlines. They had all of the other airlines but of course not the one I was flying out on. :P

Yes, this is part of the new Magical Express service that started over a year ago and it's wonderful. Also, when you arrive in Orlando if you have pre-arranged with Disney for the magical express you can tag your bags and Disney will pick up the bags and deliver them directly to your room. Saves so much time!

Gee... I'm so jealous knedeau! Although I'm a DL native and I've been there SO MANY TIMES  I've only been to WDW four times and really wish I can always fly out to WDW all the time. I feel a real excitment whenever we are at WDW because its SO BIG and OVERWHELEMING!!!! I know it pretty well but I've only done the four parks, DisneyQuest, and Bizzard Beach. We've stayed at the All-Star Movie and Music, Disney Dixie Landing, and Animal Kingdom. I'm so jealous
Do you think have enough time to go the bathroom before the next show?

We can't you old fool, WE'RE BOLTED TO THE SEATS!!!

It's a good service, but not without flaws. Everyone should ensure to pack a change of clothes in your carry on because often your luggage won't show up for a few hours after you've checked in. Just a heads up.

We used a sedan service to avoid delays and crowds once we got to the resort....got off the plane, picked up luggage called the car and 2 minutes later were on our way to our resort. arrived with luggage and set to go have fun...no lines at the resort either cause we beat the bus in.

Yeah I usually don't do it for the way in, I just pick up my own check bag and bring it to the bus. I would love to do it on the way out. 90% of the stuff in my checked bag I can get again if I need to usually.

We all made sure we brought a change of clothes and a bathing suit on our carry-ons so we could go swimming once we arrived at the hotel. But I absolutely loved the Magical Express. You save yourself at least 20 minutes without having to find out which bags are yours and such.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

I will be happy when Air Tran has this available. That would be great.
